After listening to Sophie’s story, Jiang Xiaofei was somewhat surprised. What kind of woman could possibly make Wang Dazhuo stay out all night? Though Sophie was a bit older, she practiced yoga regularly, and her figure was undeniably impressive.

But on one side was Wang Dazhuo, and on the other Sophie—it wouldn’t do to offend either. This left Jiang Xiaofei in a difficult position, unsure how to respond.

Seeing Jiang Xiaofei’s troubled expression, Sophie smiled and said, “Don’t worry, Xiaofei. If anything happens, your big sister will have your back. If I weren’t pregnant and worried about harming the baby, I’d have torn that little fox apart myself already!”

“As long as you help me deal with that little temptress, you won’t have to pay rent anymore. No matter what inventions you’re working on, no matter how much noise you make, I’ll turn a blind eye!”

Such tempting benefits made Jiang Xiaofei agree without hesitation. “Deal.”

Of course, Jiang Xiaofei had no intention of actually doing as Sophie asked. After all, in their country, deliberate murder was a crime. He wasn’t foolish enough to let himself be used as a weapon. Besides, he was a law-abiding citizen.

Jiang Xiaofei had his own way to deal with that woman; he thought a little magic would be enough to make her leave quietly.

With this in mind, he asked, “Sophie, tell me where that woman lives. I’ll take care of her tonight.”

“She lives on Ma Market Street and runs a bar called the Fairy Bar. She usually goes there around nine in the evening.”

...

Fairy Bar was a small establishment on Ma Market Street. At night, a group of scantily clad street girls could be seen outside, their chests half exposed, shaking their thighs to attract customers.

At nine in the evening, Jiang Xiaofei arrived at the Fairy Bar. Sophie, unable to rest easy, insisted on seeing the woman dealt with herself, so Jiang Xiaofei reluctantly brought her along, pretending to be a couple as they entered.

Inside, the noise was deafening, shaking the very floor. Under flashing lights, men and women indulged themselves without restraint.

Yet Jiang Xiaofei’s attention was focused not on the crowd, but on a young woman at the front desk. There was something different about her.

It wasn’t her figure or her beauty.

It was the aura she carried; Jiang Xiaofei sensed a supernatural presence. With his spiritual sight, he saw a fox swaying its three tails.

This young woman was no human—she was a fox spirit.

---

Jiang Xiaofei remained calm, unshaken by the revelation. After all, he’d dealt with fox spirits before; as long as they meant no harm, he wouldn’t interfere.

The young woman seemed to sense Jiang Xiaofei’s unusual gaze and grew uneasy. She smiled, “Honored sir, what service do you require? Massage, or perhaps some company?”

Jiang Xiaofei smiled, “I’m here to see your boss. Please let her know, or tell me where she is, and I’ll go find her myself.”

“Are you a friend of our boss?” the young woman asked.

Jiang Xiaofei shook his head.

Seeing this, she gave an apologetic smile, “Sorry, sir. Since you can’t prove you’re her friend, I can’t answer your question.”

“That’s fine,” Jiang Xiaofei replied, but his hand rested on her shoulder. To outsiders, it looked like he was flirting, but he was not.

He threatened her, “If you don’t tell me where your boss is, I’ll search your soul. Do you believe me?”

He whispered this so only she could hear.

At that moment, Sophie cursed inwardly at Jiang Xiaofei’s actions—she must have chosen the wrong person. No man was ever good.

The young woman shuddered at Jiang Xiaofei’s threat but tried to remain composed, “This is the Fairy Bar. If you dare try to search my soul, you’ll pay dearly.”

“Refusing a toast, then you’ll drink a penalty,” Jiang Xiaofei said coldly, and cast the soul-searching spell. Instantly, a flood of information poured into his mind.

“Second floor, room 121,” Jiang Xiaofei thought with a smile, releasing the pale-faced young woman. He turned to Sophie and laughed, “Sophie, you look pale. Are you feeling unwell?”

“My health is fine. I just can’t stand some people,” Sophie snorted, arms crossed.

Jiang Xiaofei understood and smiled, “You misunderstood, Sophie. I was just coaxing her to tell me where that woman is. Now I know—she’s in room 121 on the second floor.”

“Really?” Sophie was incredulous.

“Absolutely,” Jiang Xiaofei assured, patting his chest. “Just wait, Sophie. I’ll take care of her right now!”

“Good, let’s go finish off that temptress!” Hearing this, Sophie’s doubts vanished, and she nodded eagerly, desperate to see the woman who seduced her husband dead before her eyes.

But Jiang Xiaofei said, “No, Sophie, you can’t come with me. You need to stay here.”

---

Sophie was immediately suspicious, “Why not?”

Jiang Xiaofei replied, “Sophie, there are four big, strong security guards on the second floor. I’m worried for your safety.”

Sophie was touched; Jiang Xiaofei was worried about her. Happiness bloomed in her heart—it was the first time a man had ever cared for her.

She grabbed Jiang Xiaofei’s hand, “Xiaofei, you’re a good man. If Wang doesn’t want me, so be it. Just promise me you’ll be safe. If it comes to it, I’ll divorce Wang and be with you.”

“Stop, stop,” Jiang Xiaofei said helplessly, “That’s not what I meant, Sophie. Please don’t misunderstand.”

Sophie was saddened, “Xiaofei, I know you think my body’s not clean, but that’s okay. I’ll make sure I’m clean for you.”

What does love have to do with the body? Jiang Xiaofei thought, then smiled, “Rest assured, Sophie, those guards are no match for me.”

Seeing his resolve, Sophie felt a bit disappointed, but nodded, “Alright, just be careful.”

Jiang Xiaofei nodded. Since the elevator to the second floor was across the room, he disappeared into the crowd.

As Jiang Xiaofei vanished, Sophie grew uneasy and followed, but was quickly stopped by the front desk girl.

It wasn’t the girl’s intention—she was under Jiang Xiaofei’s control and had no choice.

Blocked, Sophie grew impatient, “Move aside! If you ruin my business, the boss will have your head.”

The girl struggled silently, unable to escape Jiang Xiaofei’s control.

Soon, Jiang Xiaofei rode the elevator to the second floor and found room 121. Four guards tried to stop him, but he dealt with them swiftly.

Facing room 121, Jiang Xiaofei didn’t hesitate. He raised his foot and kicked the door open.
