Chapter 6: An Unexpected Surprise
After leaving Ghost Commander City, Jiang Xiaofei’s worries never ceased for a single moment.
He had lost his parents when he was young, and his grandfather had passed away ten years ago due to poor health. Now, the only family he had left was the Ghost Immortal.
As one of the city lords of the Underworld, the Ghost Immortal would certainly join the battle; how could Jiang Xiaofei possibly be at ease?
The Underworld Palace was located in Ghost Abyss City, the most prosperous among the three principal cities of the Underworld, lying a thousand miles away from Ghost Commander City.
Yet Jiang Xiaofei pushed himself to the limit, flying swiftly, and soon arrived at Ghost Abyss City.
Sensing the powerful fluctuations of the grand formation enveloping the city, Jiang Xiaofei didn’t hesitate, forcing his way through.
Boom! Boom!
Thunderous bolts struck down upon him, loud enough for the whole city to hear. Yet within the city, silence reigned.
“Could they all have gone to the front lines?” Jiang Xiaofei gazed at the deserted Ghost Abyss City, feeling none of the pain from his wounds, only sighing softly before heading toward the palace.
Soon, a grand palace came into view, with the words “Underworld Palace” prominently displayed above its entrance.
There should have been guards stationed before the palace, but at this moment, not a single figure was to be seen, not outside nor within. This left Jiang Xiaofei deeply disappointed.
Just as he shook his head and was about to leave, a woman’s voice sounded by his ear.
“Master Fei, you’ve just arrived and already want to leave?”
Hearing this, Jiang Xiaofei turned to look. There stood a beautiful woman in a red gown, her alluring curves exuding a mature, enchanting charm that would tempt many men to fall at her feet.
She stood quietly, smiling at Jiang Xiaofei.
Looking at her, Jiang Xiaofei was puzzled and asked instinctively, “Do you know me?”
“I don’t, but I’ve seen your portrait in my master’s hands,” the woman replied with a gentle smile.
Jiang Xiaofei frowned slightly, “Is your master the Ghost Immortal?”
“That’s right, my master is indeed the Ghost Immortal, and I am Su Muhua, one of her four guardians,” the woman answered with a smile.
Hearing Su Muhua’s reply, hope surged in Jiang Xiaofei’s heart, and he asked, “Do you know where she is now?”
“I’m sorry, Master Fei, you’ve arrived a step too late.”
“Still too late?” Jiang Xiaofei sighed softly, disappointment etched in his expression.
Seeing this, Su Muhua continued with a smile, “But don’t be disheartened, Master Fei. My master foresaw your arrival and asked me to pass on a message: do not worry about her.”
Jiang Xiaofei shook his head. How could he not worry? The opponent was the Ghost Domain, and there was even a powerful Ghost Emperor.
Seeing his concern, Su Muhua smiled again, “Master Fei, rest assured. With my master’s strength, even if she were to confront the Ghost Emperor, she could retreat unscathed.”
Although Su Muhua said this, Jiang Xiaofei was still uneasy. “Can you take me to the Ghost Domain?”
“I cannot,” Su Muhua replied, shaking her head.
“Why not?” Jiang Xiaofei grew anxious.
“Because my master instructed me not to let you go. She specifically left me here to wait for you, and she asked me to hand you something.” With that, Su Muhua handed Jiang Xiaofei a small black pouch.
Jiang Xiaofei took the pouch, surprised. He recognized it as a storage pouch with a vast internal space, known as a Universe Pouch.
It was his first time holding one, and he felt as if he had obtained a priceless treasure.
Without hesitation, Jiang Xiaofei poured his consciousness into it—and was instantly stunned.
Inside, it was piled high with materials, like little mountains, all of them exactly what he needed.
“My wife truly has foresight!” Jiang Xiaofei exclaimed inwardly. Looking at Su Muhua, he said, “You must be the one who monopolized all supplies in the Underworld, right? I never would have guessed—you’re actually a ghost physician as well!”
“Yes, that person is me, but I act under my master’s orders,” Su Muhua replied with a smile. She looked at Jiang Xiaofei with envy. “To be honest, Master Fei, I am indeed a ghost physician, but I have only studied the ghost physician chapter of ‘The Underworld Ghost Path.’ Compared to your mastery of the complete work, I am far behind!”
Seeing Su Muhua’s expression, Jiang Xiaofei wasn’t surprised. After all, “The Underworld Ghost Path” was a highly coveted book—even Ghost Emperors would drool over it, let alone Su Muhua.
When he first began studying “The Underworld Ghost Path,” he was captivated by its descriptions.
But the version he practiced was not complete. From his wife, he learned that “The Underworld Ghost Path” consisted of two volumes. He had studied the first, while the second had, according to his wife, been lost to the river of history.
At the time, he felt regret. Mastering the complete book meant becoming king of the Underworld, ruler of an entire realm.
Afterward, Jiang Xiaofei looked at Su Muhua and said, “I have something here for your master; perhaps it can help her face the Ghost Emperor.”
With that, Jiang Xiaofei took out the golden paper talisman given to him by the Ghost Daoist.
Looking at the golden talisman in his hand, Jiang Xiaofei recalled the Ghost Daoist’s words:
“This talisman is called the Divine Heaven-Sealing Talisman. Today I gift it to you. Keep it safe, never lose it, for it will be of great use in the future.”
To this day, Jiang Xiaofei still didn’t know its purpose, but it felt extraordinary—after all, it was called the Divine Heaven-Sealing Talisman.
At this moment, Su Muhua stared at the golden talisman in his hand, mouth agape in astonishment. “My heavens! That’s the legendary Divine Heaven-Sealing Talisman!”
Seeing her reaction, Jiang Xiaofei felt odd, frowned, and asked, “Do you know this talisman?”
Su Muhua looked at him with surprise. “Master Fei, you don’t know? Legend says that in the Age of the End of Dharma, there were four divine artifacts, one of which was the Divine Heaven-Sealing Talisman. Its power was immense. It’s told that someone once used it to seal the heavens themselves to resist a cosmic catastrophe.”
“Wow, that’s incredible!” Learning that the golden talisman was a powerful artifact, Jiang Xiaofei was elated. The Ghost Daoist had given him the Divine Heaven-Sealing Talisman—his treasure, now.
Suddenly, he felt reluctant to hand it over. Yet, considering his wife’s safety, he decided to entrust it to Su Muhua.
He said to her, “Take this Divine Heaven-Sealing Talisman. Make sure to deliver it to the Ghost Immortal.”
As he spoke, Jiang Xiaofei’s expression grew serious.
Perhaps sensing his concern, Su Muhua patted her ample chest in assurance. “Master Fei, rest assured. My life was saved by my master—I would never betray her.”
“Alright, I’ll trust you,” Jiang Xiaofei nodded and handed the Divine Heaven-Sealing Talisman to Su Muhua.
Of course, he didn’t simply hand it over; he left a seal upon it. Only when it sensed the Ghost Immortal’s aura would the seal automatically dissolve. If someone tried to force it open, he would sense it immediately.
