"Alright." Jiang Xiaofei nodded slightly, then stepped out of the room.

A dozen minutes later, Jiang Xiaofei returned carrying several pounds of fresh fruit. After placing the bag on the counter, he turned to Jun Yao, who was sitting cross-legged on the bed with her eyes closed, healing her wounds, and asked with a smile, "Wife, would you like an apple or a banana?"

Hearing his voice, Jun Yao slowly ended her meditation and opened her eyes. "An apple," she replied.

"Alright." Jiang Xiaofei nodded, took two large apples from the bag, and went into the bathroom.

After washing the apples thoroughly, he came out and handed the largest one to Jun Yao.

She accepted the apple, parted her rosy lips, and took a bite.

Jiang Xiaofei also took a bite of his apple. As he chewed, he asked, "By the way, when I was helping you heal earlier, I noticed another wound inside you. What's the story behind that?"

Jun Yao put the apple down and replied, "It's a long story."

"Then don’t tell it. Just rest," Jiang Xiaofei said.

Jun Yao smiled. "Don’t you want to know who hurt me?"

"Of course I do. In fact, I want revenge. Whoever dared to harm my wife is clearly courting death."

Jun Yao felt a warmth in her heart at his words and said with a gentle smile, "Since you want to know, sit down and listen."

Jiang Xiaofei nodded and took a seat beside her.

Once he was settled, Jun Yao began, "This wound was left by the Ghost Emperor."

"The Ghost Emperor?" Jiang Xiaofei was visibly shocked.

"Then how did you escape from her hands?" he asked.

Jun Yao smiled. "Escape? You underestimate your wife."

Jiang Xiaofei frowned. "Don’t tell me you killed the Ghost Emperor?"

"That’s right." Jun Yao nodded. "But it was thanks to the power of the Celestial Seal Talisman. The Ghost Taoist and I joined forces to slay the Ghost Emperor, but what we didn’t expect was that she was reborn." Her expression grew serious.

"What? She was reborn?" Jiang Xiaofei was stunned.

Seeing his reaction, Jun Yao nodded. "But after some divination with the Ghost Taoist, we discovered the Ghost Emperor was reborn as a girl named Takagi Aki, who is currently studying at the National University."

"That’s also the reason why I came to find you."

Hearing this, Jiang Xiaofei frowned. "You want me to enroll at National University and eliminate the Ghost Emperor?"

Jun Yao nodded. "Exactly."

"What about the clinic? Are we just giving up on it?"

"There’s no need to continue. Your task now is to enter National University and take out the Ghost Emperor before she regains her strength."

"Also, I have something important to tell you: the second volume of Underworld Ghost Dao is in the Ghost Emperor’s possession."

"Really?" Jiang Xiaofei was both surprised and delighted.

Jun Yao nodded. "Of course it’s true. Why do you think I attacked the Ghost Realm? It was for the second volume of Underworld Ghost Dao. Only with both volumes is the work complete. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to obtain it then."

"So, I hope you can get your hands on the second volume, by any means necessary."

Understanding the gravity of the situation, Jiang Xiaofei nodded solemnly. "Don’t worry. I will complete this mission."

At this, another thought crossed his mind and he frowned slightly. "But not just anyone can get into National University."

"Don’t worry about that. I’ve already prepared everything for you," Jun Yao said with a smile. She waved her delicate hand, and piles of books appeared on the floor.

Jiang Xiaofei looked at the stacks of books, frowning. "What’s all this?"

Jun Yao laughed. "Curricula for nine years of compulsory education and three years of high school."

"What? You want me to memorize textbooks?" Jiang Xiaofei’s head throbbed just thinking about it. He doubted he could get through all those books just by reading, let alone memorizing them.

Seeing his dismay, Jun Yao smiled. "Don’t worry. I’ll teach you the art of photographic memory. That will solve everything."

"That’s a relief," Jiang Xiaofei breathed out.

At that moment, Jun Yao raised her hand and pressed it against Jiang Xiaofei’s forehead.

Instantly, he felt a torrent of chaotic information flooding his mind, and his vision seemed sharper as well.

Photographic memory, the art of perfect recall.

His mind was inundated with vast swathes of knowledge, making his head ache and leaving him unable to absorb it all at once. He had no choice but to sit cross-legged, close his eyes, and meditate for over an hour before he could slowly digest it.

"Can you handle it now?" Jun Yao asked.

"No problem." At her words, Jiang Xiaofei opened his eyes and nodded. He stood, picked up the books scattered on the floor, and began leafing through them one by one. An avalanche of information poured into his mind.

He continued this way until noon the next day, finally finishing all the books. He felt utterly exhausted.

Stretching his limbs, he collapsed onto the bed, looking mischievously at Jun Yao beside him. "Wife, it’s been a while since we’ve had any fun."

Jun Yao’s cheeks flushed. "Alright, since you worked so hard all night, you deserve a little reward."

"But first, go take a shower. You reek of sweat."

"Alright, I’ll be right back." Excited, Jiang Xiaofei quickly stripped off his clothes and dashed into the bathroom for a cold shower.

He soon emerged in pajamas.

Just then, his excitement was obvious. At that moment, Jun Yao had already undressed and was lying on her side on the bed, her flawless white legs caressed idly by her hand.

"Wife, here I come."

Without further ado, Jiang Xiaofei shed his pajamas and pounced, waging an amorous battle that lasted three hundred rounds.

...

Late at night, Jiang Xiaofei lit a cigarette and took a slow drag. He looked at Jun Yao, whose cheeks still glowed with a rosy flush, and said, "Wife, though we’re safe now, your sister is still trapped at Mount Mao. I’m really worried those old Taoist priests there might do something terrible to her."

Jun Yao smiled reassuringly. "Don’t worry. My sister may be a little naïve, but she’s not so easy to kill. And from what I know of Ye Qingzi, she won’t be harmed, at least not for now."

"But we can’t just leave her there," Jiang Xiaofei said, shaking his head.

"Of course we’ll rescue her," Jun Yao replied.

"When do you plan to make the rescue?"

Jun Yao answered, "We must plan carefully. Mount Mao is full of powerful masters, and after the stir we caused, they’ll be on high alert."

"Alright," Jiang Xiaofei nodded, falling silent.

Just then, Jun Yao took his hand, her face flushed with shyness. "Husband, I want more."

Jiang Xiaofei grinned, rolled over, and began another passionate round with her, their bodies entangled once more.
