“Apologize to her, and we can still be friends.”

Perhaps Bai Su realized her tone was a bit too forceful, so she softened it slightly, but she had no idea that she would regret this for the rest of her life...

“Friends? Who wants to be friends with you? Hahahahaha…” Tears welled up in Yang Fan’s eyes—not from sadness, but from pity for himself. Soon, medical staff arrived and quickly bandaged him. At this very moment, the time was exactly 11:59.

One minute until the apocalypse.

Yang Fan gripped Liu Qiaoqiao’s hand tightly, scanning the surroundings. Just then, someone rushed in from outside—a man about six feet tall, with a buzz cut, a sharp, handsome face, dressed in brown trousers and a striped shirt. He was well-built and rather dashing.

“Damn it, kid, are you not afraid of getting beaten up? Are you looking for trouble?” The newcomer stood at the doorway, pointing at Yang Fan with an arrogant shout. He looked imposing, clearly not one to be trifled with.

Qi Hai, a wealthy heir, notorious for causing trouble—Yang Fan glanced at him, but that handsome face meant nothing to him, like a puddle of filth. In his previous life, this man was infamous for betraying friends for his own gain. After the apocalypse struck, he fled with several women, and whenever danger arose, he’d push them forward to save himself. Eventually, he even started trafficking women.

A genuine scoundrel. Yang Fan couldn't fathom what Bai Su saw in him.

“He’s here too,” Yang Fan muttered. He hadn’t expected this scum to show up, but perhaps it was for the best—he could deal with them all at once. When the apocalypse began, those who needed killing would be eliminated, leaving no threats for the future.

Once the apocalypse started, aside from the 8,888,888 people whose doomsday systems had already activated, another group would gradually awaken their systems, while the rest would remain ordinary. One-tenth of humanity would become zombies, falling asleep at midnight.

After two minutes of slumber, they would awaken as zombies.

Yang Fan’s plan was to kill them during their sleep; otherwise, once these zombies awoke, they would be mother-level—equivalent to level five, with enhanced speed, attack power, and even some intelligence.

Hearing Qi Hai’s voice now, Yang Fan had no interest in responding.

“Qi Hai, why are you here? Wu Yinmei, why did you call him?” Bai Su frowned, scolding Qi Hai, then glared at the alluring woman beside her. The latter replied guiltily, “I just didn’t want us to suffer. Qi Hai’s tall—if Yang the thief goes crazy, it wouldn’t be good if we got hurt.”

Wu Yinmei said.

“Yes, yes…” Li Huiqi echoed, but suddenly collapsed to the ground.

“Huiqi, Huiqi, what’s wrong? What’s wrong? Director, please check my friend—she suddenly fainted!”

Wu Yinmei cried, looking at Li Huiqi. Zhu Liang frowned and told the two medical staff, “Go check.”

He was still preoccupied with how Yang Fan had discovered his affair with the principal’s wife. Yang Fan, hearing Wu Yinmei’s voice, was startled. Looking around the classroom, he saw several students slumped over their desks, others collapsing as well.

“The apocalypse is here...” Yang Fan swallowed hard. At that moment, his heart thudded violently, as if it would leap from his chest. Everyone felt it—a solar storm. All signals failed. Human civilization began to crumble from this moment.

“Hurry, throw all the sleeping people outside!” Yang Fan shouted, ignoring his injuries, rushing to a sleeping person. Without hesitation, he seized the person’s head and twisted hard—a crisp crack sounded as the neck broke.

“Killed an unsuccessful mutated mother body. Reward: 10 apocalypse coins.”

The system’s voice rang out. Yang Fan felt no excitement; he moved on to another sleeper, but suddenly, a kick landed on his back.

Bang.

Yang Fan fell to the floor, turning to see Qi Hai, the bastard who had kicked him. Qi Hai pointed at him and said, “You idiot, what tricks are you playing?”

“Screw you!” Yang Fan cursed loudly, secretly lamenting his slow reaction. Still, Qi Hai wasn’t to blame; everyone was shocked by Yang Fan’s actions—breaking someone’s neck wasn’t madness, but something else entirely.

“Bai Su, what kind of boyfriend did you find? Is he a lunatic?” Qi Hai mocked.

Liu Qiaoqiao shoved Qi Hai and snapped, “Why are you bullying Yang Fan?”

“You dare push me?” Qi Hai almost fell, his face flushed with rage as he pointed at Liu Qiaoqiao’s nose.

But Liu Qiaoqiao, finding unexpected courage, bit his finger.

“Ah!” Qi Hai screamed, then retaliated with a slap across Liu Qiaoqiao’s face.

A sharp slap echoed in Yang Fan’s eyes.

“You’re dead,” Yang Fan ground out.

Zhu Liang frowned at Qi Hai, while even Bai Su and Wu Yinmei looked at him with displeasure—hitting a woman? Was that a man’s behavior? Yet neither Bai Su nor Wu Yinmei said anything.

“Yang Fan, apologize to Huiqi, and also apologize to Qi Hai. Let’s end it here—I’ll settle it.” Bai Su spoke up again.

Upon hearing this, Yang Fan nearly exploded with rage. Apologize to Huiqi? His woman had been led astray by her, and he was supposed to apologize? Apologize to Qi Hai? His own camp’s girl had been slapped by Qi Hai, and he had to apologize?

“Screw you.”

For the first time ever, Yang Fan cursed at Bai Su.

“You...” Bai Su frowned immediately. Qi Hai was delighted with the scene, looking at Yang Fan maliciously and pointing at him, “Apologize to my woman, or I’ll break your legs.”

He emphasized “my woman” deliberately, simply to make Yang Fan suffer.

But at that moment, shrill screams erupted.

“Ah!!! Wang Hong, what are you doing? Why are you biting me?”

“Ah... Deng Xiu, why are you biting me? Help, help. Help!”

The apocalypse broke out in that instant. Yang Fan’s expression darkened. He glanced around—the classroom now held six mother-level zombies, awake...

“The era of peace has ended. The apocalypse begins. Players, strive to survive.”

The system’s cold voice echoed.
