Two days passed, and nearly all the mutated beasts were wiped out, except for the last wave. Yang Fan remained there, motionless for those two days. Many doubted whether he was still alive, but after Fu Gaobin and Wang Cheng made two trips to check, they confirmed that Yang Fan was indeed alive.

It was a relief that he was still breathing.

Finally, after the pitch-black stone absorbed a vast amount of blood, Yang Fan exhaled deeply. Using his True Eagle Eye ability, he scanned the surroundings but found nothing unusual. Immediately, he called Wang Cheng and Fu Gaobin over, and Li Qiang and the others hurried over as well, hoping to scavenge some benefits.

“Damn.” Yang Fan stood up, cursing under his breath as he stretched his stiff muscles, which crackled loudly. He had been cooped up for so long that it almost drove him crazy. Had his will not been trained, he might not have lasted.

Approaching the dark stone, which had absorbed so much blood, the runes inscribed on it flickered one by one, emanating a strange, shimmering light. Li Qiang clicked his tongue and reached out to touch it, but Yang Fan’s warning stopped him instantly.

“If you don’t want to die, don’t touch it. If it causes trouble, I’m running first.”

Li Qiang immediately realized his recklessness, smiled awkwardly, and obediently observed the stone from a distance.

The stone was covered with peculiar runes. Fu Gaobin and Wang Cheng marveled in amazement. A stone fallen from the sky might harbor alien civilization or even some demonic presence within it.

“Hey, what do you think this thing really is?” Fu Gaobin rubbed his chin and asked quietly, not daring to speak loudly for fear of attracting unwanted attention. If any heresy were triggered, he would be the prime suspect, and he certainly didn’t want that kind of trouble.

“I guess it’s alien,” Wang Cheng said with anger. “It’s a cliché from sci-fi films. This must be some kind of alien spacecraft that landed here. Maybe this whole world we live in was created by them. Why don’t we just destroy it and see what happens?”

In the apocalypse, Wang Cheng had seen too many things he never imagined before. Though real, he would rather not believe them. The suffering he endured—if indeed caused by them—would drive him insane. He was not alone in wanting to destroy this stone.

Even Yang Fan would destroy it if it came down to that.

“Don’t. What if it causes trouble we can’t handle?” Fu Gaobin said timidly, then pointed to a spot on the stone. “Look, these ancient runes look like some kind of old script, maybe from our ancient era. Could it have torn through time and space from thousands of years ago?”

Fu Gaobin’s imagination ran wild.

“You watch too many fantasy novels,” Wang Cheng replied weakly. Though the possibility was real, anything involving time and space was incredibly complex. Fu Gaobin looked down on Wang Cheng and said, “This isn’t a matter of fantasy or not.”

“I’m serious. Think about it—if someone in the past knew about this disaster and wanted to saveI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
