Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Hair in the Wall
Li Fang was speaking endlessly to Qin Mei.
One had to admit, this rich heir possessed some eloquence, making Qin Mei chuckle behind her hand.
She knew she was here to meet Fu Yang, and chatting with someone else like this wasn’t entirely appropriate. Even though the other party used the silly excuse of “a ghost wants to kill her” to get closer, she wasn’t particularly annoyed. Deep down, she regarded Fu Yang as a sincere friend, someone who never hid anything and was honest in all matters.
As for liking her… unfortunately, she felt nothing of the sort. Qin Mei preferred men with a masculine air, strong and bold. Fu Yang, on the other hand, was too smooth and gentle for her taste.
Ah Huang returned from the bar and shot Fu Yang a meaningful glance, as if to say, “Just wait, the show’s about to begin!”
“Mr. Fang, I have something to discuss with my classmate…”
Qin Mei’s intention was clear—she wanted to end the conversation with Li Fang. She couldn’t just leave Fu Yang and Ah Huang hanging.
Unexpectedly, this shameless fellow pretended not to notice and continued, “Goddess Qin, beauties like you should buy an LV bag every now and then, and take trips to the Maldives whenever you feel like it…”
Suddenly, a loud sound interrupted him mid-sentence.
The café was relatively quiet, so the noise immediately drew everyone’s attention.
“What was that? So startling.”
“Could it be a broken cup?”
At that moment, Li Fang’s face revealed his embarrassment. Qin Mei instinctively edged away from him…
Two more similar sounds followed. Everyone soon realized the commotion was coming from the slick-looking rich kid.
Fu Yang noticed Ah Huang, who was nearly breathless from holding back his laughter, and pointed at his own seat. In an instant, he understood what was happening.
Fu Yang slapped the table, sprang to his feet, and glared at Li Fang. “Hey, this is a public place! Making such loud noises is really uncivilized!”
Almost as if to confirm Fu Yang’s words, Li Fang’s rear erupted with another string of loud noises, as if a bunch of balloons had exploded.
The café was thrown into chaos. People began to whisper and gossip.
“Oh my god! He looked so polished, but this is disgusting…”
“Yeah! Letting loose like that in public, what a disgrace.”

“Looks like he’s some rich kid too. What a joke.”
“It stinks! Let’s get out of here, I can’t stay in this town anymore…”
With all the chatter, even if Li Fang had a skin thicker than a city wall, he couldn’t bear it. Especially since the barrage of noises now sounded like a machine gun—truly a spectacle.
“Miss Qin Mei, I… I’ll contact you later. I’ll leave for now…” With that, he covered his rear and fled, rushing out the door…
Fu Yang and Ah Huang exchanged a glance and burst out laughing.
“How about it, Yang? My ‘Fart God’ sticker worked pretty well, didn’t it?”
Fu Yang gave him a thumbs up. “Brilliant, truly brilliant. I bet this guy won’t dare show his face for a long time.”
Qin Mei was momentarily stunned, then her face twisted into a mischievous smile. She tapped Fu Yang’s head with her slender fingers. “Well! So you two troublemakers were behind this, ruining my romantic prospects.”
“A rotten prospect isn’t worth keeping. But now, do you believe in my friend’s abilities? Do you trust what we said?”
Actually, Qin Mei was still a bit doubtful. She didn’t believe in ghosts, and even if they existed, she’d never done anything wrong—why would a ghost want to harm her?
But what had just happened made her realize Ah Huang wasn’t ordinary. She reluctantly agreed to Fu Yang and Ah Huang’s close protection.
Thus, people at Jiangcheng University soon noticed that the beautiful Qin Mei was followed around campus by two men, like bodyguards.
Two days passed without incident.
Qin Mei felt nothing was amiss, and Fu Yang and Ah Huang also relaxed their vigilance.
On the third night, Qin Mei had a public elective class in the newly built Third Teaching Building. The building had only been completed for half a year, so few departments used it, especially for evening classes. Many classrooms were empty.
Fu Yang and Ah Huang waited for Qin Mei in the adjacent classroom, killing time playing games on their phones.
The bell rang.
“Class is over. Should we check on Qin Mei?”
Ah Huang, absorbed in his game, didn’t look up. “Go ahead, there are plenty of people here, so it should be safe.”
Fu Yang couldn’t help but worry about his goddess. Stepping out, he immediately saw Qin Mei, who also spotted him.
“Oh, my little bodyguard, so dutiful! Thank you, there’s just one more class before we’re done.”
“Serving a goddess is my honor, haha. But where are you headed?”
Qin Mei’s friend teased, “Is this your boyfriend? Is he in your class? He’s pretty handsome.”

“Don’t be ridiculous! We’re just ordinary friends.”
“Ordinary friends stick to you every day? Do you two sleep together at night…”
Qin Mei’s friend grew more and more outrageous, making Fu Yang’s heart race.
He wanted to retort that he wasn’t just small, but quite big… If she didn’t believe it, they could try—he’d make sure she couldn’t get out of bed!
Qin Mei and her friend went to the restroom during the break, and Fu Yang, of course, couldn’t follow. With the two together, he felt reassured.
“Qin Mei, wait for me, I might take a while…”
“Alright, no problem, I’ll wait for you.”
Qin Mei was playing on her phone in the restroom, waiting for her friend.
She didn’t notice that behind her, from the wall, strands of black hair were slowly emerging!
A thick mass of hair squeezed out from the wall, eerie and strange, but she remained oblivious.
More and more, these snake-like black locks slithered down the wall, twisting across the floor and creeping toward Qin Mei.
They reached her feet!
“Hm? That’s odd, why does it smell so bad?”
Qin Mei finally sensed something amiss, but didn’t think it was dangerous. She instinctively stepped back, and her foot landed right in the heap of foul, black hair.
Suddenly!
The mass of writhing, serpent-like hair climbed swiftly up Qin Mei’s slender, sexy legs. In a blink, her lower body was tightly ensnared. Then another thick bundle shot out, forcefully gagging her mouth.
She didn’t even have a chance to scream for help!
The sudden attack caught Qin Mei completely off guard. She was seized by the hair emerging from the wall.
Her eyes shone with terror, tears streaming down her face.
She struggled with all her strength, but it was useless. She could only be wrapped in the nauseating, rotting hair, dragged inexorably toward the wall.
It was trying to pull her inside!
