Looking at Bai Chenxi, Mo Li suddenly recalled the scene from last night when Chu Muyun came to find him.

"Yes, Bai Chenxi."

"Bai Chenxi?" Chu Muyun’s words made Mo Li understand at last. Of course—Bai Chenxi was in the next production he’d signed on for.

Mo Li couldn’t help teasing, “I never would’ve guessed you cared for your wife so much.”

Chu Muyun glanced at Mo Li’s pink apron and raised an eyebrow, “You’re one to talk!”

Mo Li looked down at himself and smiled helplessly. He’d known from the start that this apron was bought for him, wanting to get a men’s one instead.

But Yu Qing had insisted on keeping up her ‘good wife’ image in front of her parents and wouldn’t let him buy it.

Still, Mo Li had no intention of admitting defeat. With a touch of pride, he said, “Well, I’m already married, of course I have to care.”

The implication being, I’m ahead of you. Chu Muyun was surprised to hear they’d registered their marriage, but didn’t ask further.

But that didn’t mean others had no thoughts about it. Yu Qing had just brought over some drinks and overheard Mo Li’s words. She set the cup down heavily on the coffee table, and shot him a look full of murderous intent.

Chu Muyun cleared his throat, breaking the slightly tense atmosphere.

“Bai Chenxi will be in the crew. I’ll trouble you to look after her.”

Mo Li immediately replied, “Of course, no problem.”

“Thank you. I’ll find some time to treat you—and Yu Qing—to dinner.”

As Chu Muyun stood up to leave, Mo Li called out warmly, “Leaving so soon? Why not stay a while longer?” As he spoke, he kept winking furiously at Chu Muyun, while Yu Qing remained silent, just watching quietly.

“No, thank you.” Chu Muyun glanced behind Mo Li, patted him on the shoulder, and said, “Take care.”

“Wait.” Yu Qing suddenly stopped Chu Muyun.

“I caused you quite a bit of trouble before by speaking carelessly. I still owe you an apology—I'm sorry!”

To be honest, the two didn’t have much to do with each other. There was a time when Yu Qing listened to Chu Muyun’s songs and quite liked them.

The host, knowing how blunt Yu Qing could be, deliberately set her up during an interview.

“Yu Qing, is there any male artist in the entertainment industry you particularly admire?”

Without thinking much, Yu Qing answered casually, “Chu Muyun—his songs are pretty good.”

There was nothing wrong with her words, but with Yu Qing, things always got blown out of proportion. Whatever she did, she got criticized for. This time, with Chu Muyun involved, fans accused her of using him for hype.

Yu Qing couldn’t swallow that accusation and immediately posted on Weibo, claiming she didn’t need such publicity.

Who would believe that the queen of controversy in the entertainment industry didn’t seek publicity? Wasn’t this just shading Chu Muyun? The fans attacked even more fiercely.

Yu Qing was never one to endure such things. She felt she hadn't sought hype at all and that the accusations were completely unfounded.

Being blunt, she wasn’t good with words. Her comments were twisted by various marketing accounts, and the issue only grew hotter.

When Chu Muyun heard that someone was using him for hype again, he clarified the matter without mercy. In the end, both ended up embarrassed.

Chu Muyun hadn’t expected her to apologize about this. “It’s fine, it’s all in the past.”

When Chu Muyun had left, Yu Qing immediately turned to Mo Li with a different expression.

“Mo Li, you’re getting bolder by the day. Who told you to tell people we’re married?”

Seeing Yu Qing’s anger, Mo Li surrendered without hesitation, “I haven’t even done the dishes yet—let me go do them now.” With that, he hurried away to the kitchen.

Watching Mo Li’s retreating back, Yu Qing chased after him, “Trying to run? It won’t work—explain yourself!”

Recalling the look in Yu Qing’s eyes when he left today, Mo Li couldn’t help but shiver.

He politely turned to Bai Chenxi, “If you need any help, just ask.”

Bai Chenxi nodded dazedly, and as Mo Li nodded back and left, the onlookers watching the brief interaction between the two men felt relieved—indeed, their idol was still trustworthy.

Some, however, were greatly disappointed. After all that anticipation, this was all they got?

But Bai Chenxi no longer cared what others thought; her heart was sweet as honey: Did Chu Muyun specifically ask Mo Li to look after me?

So delighted, Bai Chenxi even ignored Tang Ziyu’s watchful gaze. Even her performance on set had improved dramatically.

Xiao Yu, seeing Bai Chenxi’s glowing face, adjusted her glasses—Hmm! The influence of an idol really is immense. I’ll have to make a note of this for future use.

Just then, Lin Yue suddenly sent a message: Got a moment?

Bai Chenxi quickly replied: No.

Lin Yue immediately called her.

Staring at Lin Yue’s call, Bai Chenxi lazily raised her eyelids—she could already guess what he wanted to say.

As soon as she picked up, Lin Yue began, “No time? Who are you trying to fool?”

Bai Chenxi lounged back in her chair, “I can already guess what you’re going to say. If it’s nothing important, let’s not keep in touch.”

Lin Yue teased, “As expected, women in love always put romance before friendship. I was even thinking of giving you and Chu Muyun more time together, so I haven’t contacted you.

Who would’ve thought you’d have so many admirers lately? Has your Chu Muyun not put a stop to it?”

Bai Chenxi rolled her eyes—she knew he’d say that.

“How is he mine? We’re not together,” she explained as usual.

“Really?”

“Really, truly.”

There was a moment of silence on the other end. “Bai Chenxi, don’t tell me—you’re actually with Jiang Jize now?”
