That evening at the bar, Tong Mo huddled with a few men, whispering anxiously, “Third Brother, if you keep drinking like this, are you going to be alright?” The others wore worried expressions too. It was just drinking, after all, not something to be overly concerned about. Yet, this wasn’t the usual way to drink.

There sat Jiang Jize, downing bottle after bottle as if his life depended on it.

They had all thought it was just a casual brothers’ gathering, but he’d called them over only to silently drown himself in alcohol.

“I just asked Brother Chu. He said Third Brother’s probably heartbroken. Just let him drink, keep an eye on him—make sure nothing happens,” said He Kaici, the same man who had recently appeared alongside Ren Xinyi.

“His little wife?” The brothers exchanged looks, each curious about who Jiang Jize’s little wife could be. She had been kept hidden all these years, and now to see Jiang Jize drowning his sorrows over love was surprising.

Among their circle, the ones least likely to drink over heartbreak were Chu Muyun and Jiang Jize. The former was oblivious to such feelings, the latter a seasoned player in love. Yet now, both had fallen deeply.

Seeing no immediate danger, the brothers joined him in drinking. Tong Mo, ever the spectator, even pulled out his phone to record.

As the cups clinked and laughter flowed, the private room’s door suddenly swung open. A drunken woman stumbled in, only realizing too late she had entered the wrong place.

“Oh, not here. Wrong room,” she muttered softly.

“That’s Tang Ziyu, isn’t it?” He Kaici whispered. In the entertainment circle, there were only a handful of names he recognized.

At the mention, the man hunched over his drink abruptly lifted his head, staring blankly at the woman.

Tang Ziyu was about to leave but, spotting Jiang Jize, stormed back with fierce determination.

The brothers exchanged glances. The silent question was clear: Who among them had stirred this trouble?

Then they saw Tang Ziyu stride past them without a glance, grab Jiang Jize by the collar, and scold him fiercely.

Tong Mo was certain from his angle that Tang Ziyu sprayed saliva across Jiang Jize’s face.

Jiang Jize appeared unaffected, letting her grip his collar while mumbling complaints indistinctly.

“Miss Tang, done talking? Mind letting go now?” he said coldly, harshly prying her hand away.

Jiang Jize forced himself to remain calm, not even glancing at Tang Ziyu, instead lifting his glass of red wine and draining it.

Tang Ziyu, still a bit dizzy, slumped onto the nearby sofa.

No one spoke, but their eyes exchanged silent messages.

What was going on? How did Tang Ziyu get involved with Third Brother?

Who could say?

Some began to speculate if she might just be Third Brother’s little wife.

But everyone shook their heads in unison. Judging by how fiercely she had cursed at Third Brother and the very idea of “little wife,” it clearly didn’t fit.

Rumors said Tang Ziyu had backing somewhere. The few men couldn’t help but imagine a melodramatic saga unfolding behind the scenes.

No matter how drunk Tang Ziyu was, she recognized Jiang Jize. As long as he was around, she felt safe.

Completely forgetting their past grievances, the intoxicated Tang Ziyu lay there a moment before starting to stir up a fuss again.

“Jiang Jize, I’m thirsty. I want water.”

“Jiang Jize, Jiang Jize…”

No matter how loudly she called, Jiang Jize remained unmoved.

Those nearby grew uncomfortable. “Third Brother, Miss Tang said she’s thirsty.” They were at a loss for how to address Tang Ziyu.

“I heard her,” Jiang Jize replied, pouring another drink and downing it.

“Jiang Jize, will you carry me home?”

Hearing her murmurs, Jiang Jize’s hand paused briefly before returning to his drinking. Tomorrow, she would forget all this.

Unlike before, Tang Ziyu didn’t grab his hair but instead began to cry.

Her mind muddled, but he sensed something had changed—he wouldn’t indulge her anymore. Fear welled within her, and she wept.

She cried, and he drank, one after another, strangely in sync.

The brothers silently watched the drama unfold, eager to gossip over Third Brother’s misfortune.

Jiang Jize finally spoke with impatience, “Had enough crying yet?”

Tang Ziyu’s tear-streaked eyes flickered, then she wept louder.

“You’re mean to me. You never scold me. Whatever I do, you always agree. You carry me home, hold me to sleep, sing to comfort me.”

Jiang Jize hastily covered her mouth, wary of the onlookers whose eyes gleamed with intrigue. “She’s drunk and talking nonsense.”

The men exchanged knowing looks. “Don’t worry, we get it.”

Tang Ziyu’s tears dripped onto Jiang Jize’s hand, and he recoiled as if burned.

He forced his words to sound sharp and biting. “Who are you crying for? Weren’t you the one who said you wanted to leave? Now you regret it? I don’t have any medicine for regrets.”

Suddenly, her arms wrapped around his waist, her head resting on his back. “Hold me.”

Jiang Jize stiffened, finally finding his voice. “Tang Ziyu, let go.”

“No, I won’t. If I let go, you won’t want me anymore.” She spoke as she shook her head, even more dizzy in her drunkenness.

Jiang Jize tightened his grip on his glass and set it down heavily. He turned her body to face him. “I only hold my woman. Are you?”

Though he knew she was drunk and unaware, he still asked. Why? You said never to meet again, yet here you are, drunk and clinging.

If you say yes, whether drunk or sober, you’ll be mine forever. I will never let go.

Then he saw Tang Ziyu smile foolishly at him before collapsing against his chest, still playfully pinching him.

Jiang Jize’s face darkened. The brothers stifled their laughter, afraid to meet his gaze lest they burst out laughing.

No one knew what she had said, but the previously grim Jiang Jize suddenly smiled warmly and said, “Alright.”

Before their astonished eyes, he grinned like a groom and carried Tang Ziyu away.

He added with a smirk, “Tonight’s drinks are on me.”

The brothers exchanged glances. “If not you, then who? You’ve had several bottles already; we’ve barely touched one.”

Tong Mo raised his phone. “Look.”

Out of curiosity, he had just asked Brother Chu about their relationship. Chu Muyun had replied with three words: “Little wife.”

Recalling Jiang Jize’s mischievous, devilish smile earlier, He Kaici chuckled, “You know, he really did have a bit of that domineering CEO vibe just now.”

They exchanged smiles and clinked glasses. Everything was understood without a word. (The Domineering CEO and His Little Wife.)

“By the way, what did Tang Ziyu say to make Third Brother so happy?”

Tang Ziyu, clutching Jiang Jize’s shirt, muttered unconsciously, “Jiang Jize, let’s go home.”

Jiang Jize replied, “Alright.”

I gave you a chance before, but this time you came knocking on my door yourself. Drunk or not, I won’t let you go.

For this lifetime, you and I are bound together forever.
