Volume One, Chapter 81: Scattered Medals of Honor
"That's Jiang Yu, it's really him, damn, it's really him!"
"Brother Yu, I'm your fan! Well done, that's exactly how they should be taught a lesson!"
"Brain-dead fans. So what if he's Jiang Yu? Does that give him the right to hit people?"
"Jiang Yu actually hit someone."
"So what if he did? He should've! Bullying old people—what kind of ability is that?"
"Rigging the show, and now hitting women—what kind of man does that?"
"What are you all talking about? Did you even see what just happened? Twisting black into white—unbelievable!" The young man standing protectively by the elders couldn't help but step forward in defense.
Jiang Yu smiled, patting the young man's shoulder. "Alright, enough. There's no point arguing with brainless people. Why make things hard for yourself?"
"So that's how it is—you’re part of the industry too, then!" Hua Fan, recognizing Jiang Yu as he removed his mask, let a chill seep into his gaze.
"You and I are bound to cross paths again. As your senior, let me give you some advice: you should keep a lower profile and show a bit more respect to your elders. It would be better for your life."
"No need for your concern, Teacher Hua. My life is just fine. I had two in-flight meals on the plane today," Jiang Yu replied indifferently.
Why are there so many people like this? The famous ones—Wang Linkai, Xu Kun, Sun Tao—they all act superior, always demanding to be called ‘senior’ by others. And now here comes another one, Hua Fan. What’s so noble about you?
Seeing Jiang Yu show him no respect at all, rage flared in Hua Fan’s chest.
"Apologize. If you don’t apologize today, none of you are leaving!"
The girls around, hearing this, looked at him with even deeper admiration.
"He's so handsome! He's standing up for us!"
"Yes, if you don't apologize, you’re not leaving today!"
Just then, airport staff arrived.
"Mr. Hua Fan, Mr. Jiang Yu, may I ask what happened here?"
Hua Fan’s face was dark. "This Mr. Jiang Yu hit one of my fans. I demand an apology."
"Mr. Jiang Yu, did you really hit someone?" the airport staff turned to question him.
Jiang Yu looked at them. "You’re right on time, after blocking the way for so long. Only now do you show up?"
"Mr. Jiang Yu, I’m asking you—did you hit someone or not?" The staff's face turned grim at Jiang Yu’s sarcasm. Who did this minor celebrity think he was, talking to them like that?
"I did. So what?" Jiang Yu answered without a hint of regret.
"Then please come with us to clarify the situation. We’ve already called the police."
"Good, call the police. And make sure you have the surveillance footage ready!" Jiang Yu said, his face serious.
Just then, the elders with visible injuries stepped forward to shield Jiang Yu. "Young man, this boy only stood up for us. I think he’s right—we should get the surveillance footage and understand what really happened before we discuss anything further."
The staff looked at Hua Fan.
But before Hua Fan could speak, the female fan hiding behind him jumped out.
"Old thing, who do you think you are? Who said you could speak here?"
The old man frowned. "Young lady, you bumped into me earlier and didn’t apologize. Now you say things like this—didn’t anyone teach you manners?"
"Old thing, what are you saying? Are you confused? Jiang Yu hit me, and I don’t care who he is. If he doesn’t apologize, he’s not leaving!"
Slap!
The girl stared in disbelief, clutching the other side of her face.
He was a public figure—didn’t he care about his image? With so many people around, how could he dare?
"I really don't want to hit women, but in this world, there’s always a group of idiots who force your hand," Jiang Yu said, shaking out his hand, looking relaxed.
"I told you before—if you uttered another curse, I’d give you another slap."
"Mr. Jiang Yu, please control your emotions!" The airport staff had never expected Jiang Yu to act so decisively. They hadn’t even had time to react to that slap.
"You’re a public figure—please mind your behavior! Otherwise, we’ll have to take action!"
"Public figure? To hell with that! First and foremost, I’m a human being!" Jiang Yu roared.
Applause erupted around him.
"Well said! So what if he’s a public figure? He’s a person first!"
"That woman—she looks decent, but who knew her heart was rotten. Absolutely disgusting!"
While the crowd cheered, the elders grew anxious. "Child, don’t be so impulsive. It’s not worth it for our sake."
"Old fools, you weren’t speaking up before, but now that things have gotten big, you’re scared? Too late!"
Those rabid fans surged forward, looking ready for a fight.
The airport staff scrambled to stop them.
In the chaos, the elders’ luggage was knocked over.
As the suitcase fell open, everyone froze.
Inside was a shirt, washed so many times it had turned pale, but one could still make out its original color. Even more shocking, a few medals lay beside it.
Military medals...
The staff member accompanying the elders was truly angry now. "Is this what young people value these days? Is a celebrity worth this kind of behavior? Do you even know who these elders are?"
No one dared utter a word.
Although the security officer didn't finish his sentence, everyone had guessed their identities.
Jiang Yu hadn’t expected this either. Seeing the different injuries on their bodies, he’d only wanted to stand up for these elders, but now he realized—their wounds were borne of the greatest glory: military honors.
How laughable. A group of pampered celebrities are worshipped in the airport, while their fans would even harm the veterans who once protected this country...
Hua Fan’s face turned ashen. He hadn’t expected these wounded elders to be people of such status.
Jiang Yu knelt down and began gathering the scattered belongings.
"Son, I can do it myself," the old man said kindly, smiling.
Jiang Yu shook his head. "It’s what I should do. Among those you protected, not everyone turned out like this—there are still good people!"
The elders nodded, comforted.
When everything was packed, Jiang Yu stood, turned, and looked at Hua Fan with a dark, thunderous expression, his fist clenched tight.
Hua Fan, seeing this, grew uneasy. "What are you going to do?"
"Apologize," Jiang Yu said quietly.
Hua Fan’s expression was unbearable.
"Didn’t you hear me? I said apologize!" This time, Jiang Yu’s voice was almost a roar.
Everyone around looked furious too; after seeing the military medals, a powerful anger surged in their hearts.
As soon as Jiang Yu finished speaking, everyone began shouting at the fans and at Hua Fan.
Their voices were as one—as if rehearsed—powerful, thunderous, as if to unleash all their pent-up fury:
"Apologize!"
"Apologize!"
