Xiang Rong nodded, "Yes, let's go get something to eat."

The two left the hospital and began to stroll slowly. Xiang Rong looked around vigilantly, and after confirming that no one was following them, she breathed a sigh of relief.

"Did you discover something?" Xiang Rong asked, voicing the doubt in her heart.

Lin Xiaoyan nodded. "Yes, that girl Ningning—her eye does not have a tumor."

"When I was at the outpatient clinic, I bumped into her and saw her lying on the operating table. The eye wrapped in gauze was being removed and installed directly into another child."

"The one performing the surgery was that Director Xia, and Ningning was left without an eye..."

Lin Xiaoyan did not know how to describe her feelings. She took a deep breath and said sternly, "If that eye had a tumor, would they just give it directly to someone else?"

Thinking of Ningning’s sweet and well-behaved demeanor, a look of fury crossed Xiang Rong’s face.

"These people are truly lawless!" Xiang Rong gritted her teeth. "I will tell the captain about this right now!"

Lin Xiaoyan looked at Xiang Rong and asked, "Sister Rong, when we go back later, could we talk to Ningning's mother and ask her to take Ningning to another hospital for a check-up?"

Hearing this, Xiang Rong looked troubled. "I'll ask the captain first."

Lin Xiaoyan frowned. Seeing her expression, Xiang Rong sighed and said, "What we are doing now is for the sake of countless innocent people in the future. Just like all the undercover officers in our country—they cannot risk exposing themselves just to save one person they happen to meet."

Xiang Rong looked at Lin Xiaoyan. "If they did that, then all the efforts made by everyone behind them would be in vain."

Lin Xiaoyan felt a pang of sorrow. She had seen related news on the internet before, but only after experiencing it firsthand did she realize how heroic those people truly were. Their willpower, their patience, their courage—everything about them was worthy of admiration.

Lin Xiaoyan looked up at Xiang Rong and apologized. "I'm sorry, Sister Rong. I didn't think it through."

"It's alright. After all, you are still young and haven't experienced these things before." Xiang Rong patted her shoulder, and the two walked toward a restaurant.

During the meal, Xiang Rong sent the details of the situation to He Qi'an. After finishing, she received a reply. She looked at Lin Xiaoyan with a smile and said, "Don't worry, the captain will handle this."

"Okay, thank you all."

Next, during her hospital stay, Lin Xiaoyan wandered through various wards with Xiang Rong. Xiang Rong would chat enthusiastically with the people in each room, while Lin Xiaoyan took the opportunity to make physical contact with them. Once the contact for that floor was complete, Lin Xiaoyan would relay the scenes she had "seen" to He Qi'an, who then arranged for evidence to be collected based on the surgery times of those patients.

As for patients in other departments, they did not rashly approach them, but instead made accidental contact when meeting in elevators or hallways. In just two days, Lin Xiaoyan lost a lot of weight, and her mental state deteriorated significantly.

Xiang Rong looked at her with concern. "Why don't you get some rest?"

Lin Xiaoyan shook her head. She looked at the other two people in the ward; Ningning had been discharged yesterday. When she was discharged, Director Xia’s expression had been quite a sight, but with so many people around, they dared not do anything—especially since Ningning’s father had brought a group of construction workers to help move her out. Seeing the situation, Director Xia could only watch helplessly as the prey slipped through his fingers.

Over the past two days, by coming into contact with various patients, Lin Xiaoyan had "seen" various bloody scenes. Those images appeared in her mind from time to time, day and night, making it impossible for her to sleep or rest properly, leading to her current exhausted state. If not for those visions, she never would have imagined that a hospital could be this dark.

"Ms. Lin, did you not sleep well last night? Your complexion looks so poor. You have surgery tomorrow morning; you must get some rest!" the head nurse said with concern during her rounds.

Lin Xiaoyan felt tense and afraid at the mention of the surgery. She managed a forced smile. "It's probably just because I'm not used to the bed, so I couldn't sleep."

The head nurse continued, "Then let me ask Director Xia if there's anything he can give you to help you sleep."

Lin Xiaoyan shook her head. "Forget it. Since the surgery is tomorrow, I don't want to take any medicine. What if it affects the operation?"

The head nurse pondered for a moment. "Alright, then."

After the head nurse left, Xiang Rong took Lin Xiaoyan’s hand. "Just lie here and rest today."

Lin Xiaoyan frowned. "But..."

Xiang Rong shook her head firmly. "You have already done enough these past two days."

Hearing this, Lin Xiaoyan nodded slowly. Since the police said it was enough, she would stop worrying. She would focus on recovering, and leave the rest to the police.

Even though she tried to rest, Lin Xiaoyan still could not sleep that night. She was terrified that if He Qi'an and his team didn't arrive in time during her surgery, her corneas might be removed.

When the others in the ward woke up, Lin Xiaoyan opened her eyes and immediately messaged Dr. Yang to ask if a cornea could be re-implanted after being removed and whether it would affect her vision.

Yang Lin was already awake. He felt a mix of amusement and pity when he read the message. He knew today was the day his cousin would close the net, and he knew Lin Xiaoyan would be pushed into the operating room soon. Knowing her personality, she probably hadn't slept all night. He set aside his work and typed out a reply.

Seeing Yang Lin's response, Lin Xiaoyan felt a sense of relief.

"Ms. Lin, how did you sleep last night?" The nurse walked in to tidy the bed.

Lin Xiaoyan shook her head. "Not well."

"Oh? That's truly painful. I understand the agony of insomnia..."

Xiang Rong entered, looked at Lin Xiaoyan, and nodded. Seeing her brought a sense of comfort to Lin Xiaoyan.

After the nurse left, Xiang Rong whispered, "Captain He and his team have arrived. As soon as you go into the operating room, they will make their move."

Xiang Rong pulled the privacy curtain shut. Lin Xiaoyan quickly changed into her surgical gown, and Xiang Rong carefully clipped a micro-camera onto one of the buttons.

Everything was ready. At eight o'clock, Lin Xiaoyan was pushed into the operating room. Before entering, she gripped Xiang Rong’s hand tightly, her eyes flashing with tension and fear. Xiang Rong patted her shoulder, signaling her to rest easy.
