Volume 1, Chapter 20: Deliberately Looking for Trouble!
Fang Jiahao’s eyes flashed with a cold, sinister glint. He narrowed his eyes and sneered, "Brother Ye, if you want to slander me, do try to come up with a more convincing reason."
"You claim my company owes the bank hundreds of millions."
"Heh, surely you realize just how much capital our Fang family’s Yulong Group possesses?"
"A mere few hundred million? Do you think I’m short on that?"
Yang Huiru chimed in, "Exactly. A family like the Fangs would never be strapped for such a paltry sum."
"Besides, we have one hundred percent faith in Young Master Fang’s capabilities and background."
Fang Jiahao wore a playful expression as he continued, "And earlier, Brother Ye, what was that you said?"
"You said you just had dinner with President Tian of Jiangnan Bank? Heh, no offense intended, but I have to ask: do you even know President Tian? As a lowly security guard, I doubt you’d even be worthy of the spit he clears from his throat in your entire lifetime."
Seizing the opportunity, Yang Huiru launched a verbal assault. "Young Master Fang is right."
"Ye Yun, you are truly a piece of trash that cannot be molded."
"Stop spouting such arrogant nonsense here. What status do you have to even brush shoulders with someone like President Tian?"
Su Wen also shook his head; although he said nothing, he clearly did not believe a word of what Ye Yun had said.
Su Shan, however, suddenly spoke up. "Dad, Mom, I think we should reconsider this."
Yang Huiru snorted coldly, "What is there to consider? The strength of the Fang family is beyond doubt."
"I have complete peace of mind handing this money over to Young Master Fang."
Fang Jiahao beamed, looking at Ye Yun with the posture of a victor.
*You little punk, you are nowhere near my level when it comes to playing games with me.*
"Shanshan, your aunt and uncle have both invested their money."
"What about you? If you invest, I’ll grant you an even higher rate of return."
He turned toward Su Shan, beginning to extend a soulful invitation.
Su Shan shook her head. "The Su Group’s current funds are barely enough to cover our overhead."
"I don’t have much money of my own, so I’ll have to pass."
Fang Jiahao looked disappointed, but promised, "No matter, Shanshan. Once our new project is finalized, I’ll gift you two new apartments."
Yang Huiru’s mouth twisted into a wide grin as she fawned, "Young Master Fang, I thank you on Shanshan’s behalf."
"Haha, you really are the lucky star of our family."
After a show of modesty, Fang Jiahao departed the Su household.
As soon as he left, Su Shan immediately said, "Dad, Mom, you cannot make this investment."
Yang Huiru sneered, "I know you’ve been bewitched by this little security guard."
"You don't believe Young Master Fang, but you choose to believe this poor boy instead."
"Since that’s the case, stay out of my business. The money is mine, and it has nothing to do with you."
Su Shan grew anxious. "Dad, what about you?"
"I can testify that every word Ye Yun said is one hundred percent true."
"Yesterday, he really did have dinner with President Tian."
Su Wen laughed. "Daughter, not to mention whether it’s even possible for him to dine with a big shot like President Tian..."
"Even if it were true, do you really think a high-ranking official like President Tian would reveal such sensitive, private work matters to him?"
Yang Huiru mocked, "Exactly. He probably just managed to show his face in front of President Tian."
"In reality, President Tian probably didn't even look at him twice, yet he comes here bragging about it."

Su Shan found herself at a loss for words.
At this moment, Ye Yun stood up and said calmly, "Dinner is over, so I should be getting back."
"Aunt, Uncle, you are right."
"I was just talking nonsense. Everything Young Master Fang said is the absolute truth."
"Heh, you two are wise. You should invest even more. It’s best if you put your entire retirement savings into it—the more, the better—and wait for Young Master Fang to lead you to great wealth."
That was Ye Yun’s temperament.
Since he couldn't save them, he might as well give them a nudge on their path to ruin.
In any case, he wouldn't be the one suffering in the end!
Yang Huiru said smugly, "If you're jealous, just say so. Don't sit there being passive-aggressive."
Su Wen chuckled, "Ye Yun, don’t be discouraged."
"In light of the jade bead you gifted us today..."
"Rest assured, once I get the investment returns from Young Master Fang, I’ll give you two million."
Yang Huiru was displeased. "What did you say? Give him two million?"
"I’m warning you, don’t you dare act like a fool. He’s a grown man; can’t he earn his own money?"
Su Wen waved his hand. "Enough said. Regardless, he and Shanshan have already tied the knot."
"We should treat this boy as one of our own, at least partially."
Yang Huiru crossed her arms and turned away. "Hmph, I can't do that."
"I only have one ideal son-in-law in my heart, and that is Young Master Fang."

After leaving the Su household, Su Shan immediately asked, "Ye Yun, are you certain that Fang Jiahao’s company is already drowning in debt?"
Ye Yun shrugged. "Tian Hanmin told me himself."
"I don’t think he would dare to deceive me."
Su Shan was skeptical. "He wouldn't dare deceive you? Are you implying that even someone like President Tian is afraid of you?"
Ye Yun replied flatly, "I don't know if he's afraid, but I can be certain he wouldn't dare play tricks in front of me."
Su Shan nodded. "No, I can't let my parents take this risk."
Ye Yun said, "It is hard to save a fool from his own fate. Your father is fine, but your mother..."
"Honestly, she’s quite ill-advised."
Su Shan sighed. "Let’s not talk about this anymore. Take me to the Group."
"The Su Qiang family is already causing an uproar."
As soon as they arrived at the Group, Su Qiang, accompanied by a group of executives and the General Manager, Su Xuan, surrounded them aggressively.
"Su Shan, take a good look at the mess you’ve caused."
Su Qiang slammed the documents in his hand down, looking like he was there to demand an account.
Pushing up the frames of her glasses, Su Shan looked displeased. "Big President, if you have something to say, say it. Why are you throwing such a tantrum? What is this about?"
Su Qiang sneered, "I am talking to you about it."
"Because your brainless live-in son-in-law beat up people from Dongcheng."
"Now, the bank loan we desperately need has been frozen."
Su Shan frowned. "What does our bank loan have to do with those thugs from Dongcheng?"
Su Xuan crossed her arms, sneering incessantly. "What does it have to do with them?"
"Don’t you know that Wang Hu, the elder brother of Wang Bao, is the branch manager of Jiangnan Bank?"
"Your live-in son-in-law beat up his own brother."
"Branch Manager Wang Hu is furious and has stated directly that our Su Group won't get a single cent."
Su Shan said in a deep voice, "Ye Yun acted to protect me at the time."
"Besides, he retrieved the goods that were being held by Dongcheng for the group."
Su Qiang looked indifferent. "Those goods were only lost in the first place because of you."
"Getting them back is merely making up for a mistake; it’s only right and proper."
"But because of that, you offended Dongcheng."
"As for how you’re going to clean up this mess and make amends, that’s not my concern."
Su Shan sneered, "You are certainly realistic and heartless."
Su Xuan glanced at Ye Yun with deep resentment, gloating, "Shanshan, this loan from Jiangnan Bank is extremely important."
"If it doesn't get approved, the group’s new project cannot move forward."
"When that happens, the Chairman will definitely ask."
"Heh, I’m sweating for you. The Old Matron’s temper doesn't care for excuses."
Su Shan said calmly, "Understood."
"If there is nothing else, please leave my office."
Su Qiang walked out last, smiling, "Shanshan, actually, getting this loan back isn't that difficult."
"I’ll give you a piece of advice; whether you take it or not is up to you."
"Just have this freeloading little security guard go personally, kneel before the Tiger and Leopard brothers of the Wang family, and kowtow in apology."
"Perhaps, once they're happy, they'll show some mercy."
Su Shan remained silent.
Ye Yun, however, said with a smirk, "Big President, is your son’s little pecker okay now?"
"Seeing you here, flapping your lips and spouting nonsense, you seem quite relaxed."
Su Qiang’s face turned instantly, hideously dark.
"You little beast, our feud is far from over."
Ye Yun replied with disdain, "Old dog, go to hell. I'll be waiting for you anytime."
His direct attitude left even Su Qiang stunned.
He truly couldn't fathom where someone who kept the gates would find the confidence to repeatedly clash with him.
Su Shan looked coldly at Ye Yun. "Do you think you haven't caused me enough trouble?"
Ye Yun snorted. "For an idiot like him, the more you indulge him, the more he’ll jump around."
"This loan issue at the Su Group is clearly just an excuse to give you a hard time."
Su Shan rubbed her forehead, feeling a headache coming on. "Of course I know Su Qiang and Su Xuan are targeting me."
"But the fact remains that the funds have been frozen, and I have to get them back."
Ye Yun said, "Let’s go. I’ll go with you."
Su Shan didn't move, but pulled out her phone first.
"Yu'er, you have a classmate who is an executive at Jiangnan Bank, right?"
"A loan for the Su Group has been blocked, and I’d like to ask for their help."
