“Don’t be fooled by this substitute’s current arrogance; she will not have an easy time from now on.”

Leave Wei Xifeng?

For some reason, Qiao Yiran didn’t want to hear those words from anyone else. A surge of resistance stirred within her heart.

On the surface, Qiao Yiran looked utterly dejected, all because she was forced into a situation beyond her control. “Weiwei, you know how Wei Xifeng is—he won’t let me go.”

Indeed, if Wei Xifeng had intended to release her, he would have done so long ago. Why wait three years?

Song Jinwei was at a loss for words, her emotions still shattered from the events of the day.

As Qiao Yiran’s closest sister, Song Jinwei could not ignore her plight. She comforted and coaxed her for quite some time before finally hanging up the phone.

Sitting there stunned for a moment, Qiao Yiran’s mind grew heavier and more anxious.

Song Jinwei and Fu Qinian returned to the Fu family in a disheveled and hurried state.

The servants were shocked to see their pitiful appearance. One was the Fu family’s adopted young lady; the other, no matter what, was the Fu family’s young master by blood. Who could have done this to them?

Song Jinwei’s injuries were mild and mostly due to fright, so she didn’t rush to treat them. But Fu Qinian suffered severe injuries from Wei Xifeng’s brutal assault, which tore into his very bones and flesh. She anxiously ordered the family doctor to tend to Fu Qinian’s wounds.

Yet, no one moved.

Song Jinwei stomped her foot angrily. “What’s going on? Not even listening to me anymore? Am I no longer able to command you? Do you even respect me at all?”

Upon hearing this, the servants dared not offend her and immediately turned their attention to Fu Bo, the Fu family’s longtime steward.

Fu Bo said, “Miss, please don’t make things difficult for us. The eldest young master does not permit the second young master to appear here.”

Upon hearing Fu Bo refer to him as the second young master, Fu Qinian’s face darkened. That title had followed him for many years, and he still could not get used to it.

Because he was originally supposed to be the Fu family’s eldest young master, older than Fu Siyue by a year.

“If the eldest young master finds out you brought the second young master back, the second young master’s situation will only worsen.”

“Also, Miss, if the eldest young master learns you sneaked out to find the second young master, he will surely be angry.”

Song Jinwei’s face turned grim. She knew all this. She had only dared to bring Fu Qinian back because Fu Siyue was away.

Secretly, she felt it was unfair to Fu Qinian. Why could Fu Siyue live here, while Fu Qinian, also a Fu family young master, wasn’t even allowed inside, not even for a moment longer?

“As long as you don’t tell, how would Fu Siyue know?”

Everyone thought Song Jinwei was naive. Sure enough, the next second, a cold and imposing voice rang out.

“Do you think I wouldn’t know if they didn’t tell me?”

Song Jinwei trembled all over, her face changing sharply. Turning around, she saw Fu Siyue approaching step by step, tall and commanding, dressed in formal attire, cold as a mountain.

A group of subordinates followed behind him, including his most capable right-hand man, Lin Feng.

Without Fu Siyue needing to say a word, Lin Feng and others quickly stepped forward. Lin Feng kicked Fu Qinian’s leg, forcing him to kneel with a muffled grunt. Then several subordinates surged forward in perfect coordination, pinning him face-down on the ground.

Seeing this, Song Jinwei cried out in alarm, “Qinian brother!” She anxiously tried to rush forward to rescue him, but the maids nearby quickly stopped her, keeping her far from Fu Qinian.

Every maid working for the Fu family was exceptionally skilled, and with their numbers, Song Jinwei was powerless. She could only watch helplessly as the one she cared for was held down like a dog.

Unable to bear the sight, Song Jinwei screamed and glared fiercely at Fu Siyue. “Fu Siyue, what do you think you’re doing? Let him go!”

Fu Qinian, suffocating under the pressure, gasped for air and looked up at Fu Siyue, who looked down at him with cold disdain. This angle made Fu Qinian appear even more pitiful and weak. Feeling utterly humiliated, his nerves snapped. He struggled with all his might and screamed in fury, “Let me go—”

Fu Siyue shrugged off the suit jacket draped over his shoulders. Fu Bo took it and neatly folded it over his arm. Fu Siyue sighed quietly as he looked at Fu Qinian on the ground.

With one hand in his trouser pocket, Fu Siyue pressed his polished leather shoe onto Fu Qinian’s fingers. Fu Qinian immediately cried out in pain, sweat breaking out all over his body.

“Didn’t I tell you not to touch anyone you shouldn’t?” Fu Siyue gazed coldly at the man beneath his foot, pressing down even harder.

Fu Qinian was the son of Fu’s father and his mistress—a bastard. The cruelest irony was that this illegitimate son was a year older than him.

While Fu’s mother had devoted all her love to Fu’s father, she never imagined he had already betrayed her.

Fu Siyue’s eyes brimmed with disgust and hatred. His mind, trapped in memories, filled with dark red veins in the whites of his eyes, made him look chilling and terrifying.

“Stop stepping on him! Fu Siyue, stop! I won’t allow you to step on him anymore, do you hear me?” Song Jinwei stomped anxiously, her eyes red and brimming with tears.

Fu Qinian’s hands were precious. Those long, beautiful hands had played the most romantic melodies in the world for her.

If his hands were ruined, he would never be able to play piano again.

“He didn’t touch me. I touched him. I went to find him. I like him. If you want to come, come at me!” Song Jinwei’s words made Fu Siyue pause. His cold, deep eyes briefly went vacant, as if his heart had hollowed out.

Song Jinwei wasn’t really a Fu family member. Both her parents had died. Because of the close ties between the two families’ elders, she was taken under the Fu family’s wing when she had no one else, protecting her inheritance from greedy relatives.

Song Jinwei had been with the Fu family for over ten years and had grown up as their adopted young lady.

Therefore, to outsiders, she was Miss Fu. Backed by the Fu family, people showed her respect and addressed her politely as Miss Fu.

“Do you dare to say that again?” Fu Siyue’s eyes reddened with rage, filled with cruelty. He took an iron rod from his subordinate.

Sensing what he was about to do, Song Jinwei’s eyes widened.

Fu Siyue said, “I told you if you ever sneak out to see him again, I’d break his leg.”

The iron rod swung down without hesitation. Accompanied by Fu Qinian’s agonizing scream, Song Jinwei shrieked in terror, “No!”

She collapsed, clutching her head, tearing at her hair in despair.

Fu Siyue remained ruthless. He raised the iron rod again toward Fu Qinian’s leg and demanded, “Who do you like?”
