Feifei blinked, seemingly grasping her mother's intent instantly. She suddenly pointed at Jiang Yang and declared, "The penalty is for Daddy to give Mommy a kiss!"

Jiang Yang cursed inwardly. This mother-daughter duo was starting off with a heavy request—demanding a kiss the moment they met. Although he felt a genuine attraction to this beautiful teacher, he couldn't just kiss her without first understanding the situation.

While he was still hesitating, Feifei, sitting across from him, began clapping her little hands: "Mommy and Daddy kiss, Mommy and Daddy kiss..."

Encouraged by her daughter, Ouyang Qian’s face flushed a deep crimson. To his surprise, she slowly closed her eyes and turned toward Jiang Yang, waiting for him to carry out the "penalty."

The people around them cast expectant gazes their way. What a loving family! A public display of affection!

Looking at Ouyang Qian’s delicate, beautiful face and Feifei, who was clutching her little fists in anticipation, Jiang Yang found himself in a real bind. If he refused this penalty now, he might hurt Feifei’s young heart, leaving her with the childhood trauma of believing her father didn’t love her mother.

However, he had known this Teacher Ouyang for less than three minutes, and he didn't even know if she was the person he was supposed to confess to. Could he really just kiss her?

But he had no choice!

Even the onlookers began to chime in: "Kiss her! Kiss her!"

He steeled himself. Before Ouyang Qian could open her eyes, he reached forward and pulled her into an embrace. She trembled slightly and let out a soft hum, managing to keep her eyes closed, though the blush on her cheeks deepened.

Jiang Yang, however, turned his back to block Feifei’s view. He pressed his face against Ouyang Qian’s cheek and kissed the air, making a loud "mwah" sound.

He then sat back in his seat and smiled at Feifei. "Look, Daddy has finished the penalty. Are you satisfied now?"

Ouyang Qian opened her eyes, staring at him blankly, her face filled with disappointment. The moment he had held her, she had actually thought he might have changed his mind. But even with his memory loss, he remained the same as before—always adhering to his principles, making him both lovable and infuriating.

Just as she was about to say something, Feifei began clapping and giggling, "Daddy loves Mommy so much, Daddy loves Mommy..."

Having finally cleared this hurdle, Jiang Yang breathed a sigh of relief. "Teacher Ouyang, I came to see you today because I wanted to ask about our past..."

Ouyang Qian nodded slightly. "Alright, walk with us by the river. We can talk as we go."

Jiang Yang was taken aback. Had she intentionally avoided seeking him out before? This made her different from the other women who had come looking for him.

Leaving the restaurant, the three of them walked along the riverbank like a family of three. The gentle breeze brushed against their faces, creating an indescribable sense of comfort.

Feifei walked between them, holding Jiang Yang’s hand in one and Ouyang Qian’s in the other, skipping along like a happy little bird.

This familiar scene caused a sharp pain in Jiang Yang’s head. It felt as if they had walked like this many times before. He wanted to ask something, but Ouyang Qian always smiled without answering, casting her gaze toward Feifei, signaling that it wasn't appropriate to talk while the little girl was present. He had to swallow his words.

After walking for a while, they sat down on a bench by the river. Exhausted from playing, Feifei leaned against Jiang Yang and fell into a deep sleep.

Ouyang Qian stroked Feifei’s hair, her eyes filled with tenderness. Suddenly, she asked, "Jiang Yang, have you made up your mind?"

This abrupt, inexplicable question left him stunned. Jiang Yang didn't know how to respond. "I... made up my mind about what?"

Ouyang Qian bit her lip. "You once said that if you decided to be Feifei’s real father and have me as your wife, you would come back to find us. Have you decided now?"

Jiang Yang felt like collapsing. What was going on? Were wives being sold in bulk these days? Why did everyone claim to be his wife?

"Teacher Ouyang, I was in a car accident and suffered a concussion, resulting in memory loss. Could you please tell me what happened between us?"

Ouyang Qian looked at Feifei. "Look, she calls you 'Daddy' so naturally. Do you really not remember anything that happened?"

Jiang Yang also found the sudden appearance of a daughter quite surreal. He could only say, "I’m sorry, I really have forgotten everything..."

Ouyang Qian picked up Feifei and placed her in Jiang Yang’s arms, giving him a sorrowful look. "Then let me help you refresh your memory."

Holding the heavy little girl in his arms, Jiang Yang began to listen to Ouyang Qian tell their story.

She was a twenty-eight-year-old single mother. Her husband had died in a car accident three years ago, when Feifei was just over a year old, leaving her to raise their daughter alone.

Fortunately, her husband had started his own company before he passed away. After transferring his shares to the company, Ouyang Qian received an inheritance of several tens of millions. As long as she didn't squander the money, they would be financially secure.

A year after her husband’s death, as she returned to a peaceful life, she had wanted to find a man who could love both her and Feifei, so they could live a happy, loving life.

Beautiful and graceful, she had tried to get to know a few men she felt an attraction to. However, she eventually discovered that these men were either after her money, couldn't get along with Feifei, or were only interested in her looks, so she gave up.

Besides, she was wealthy and didn't need to rely on a man. She had her teaching job, which was steady, so she decided to live by the principle of "better to have nothing than to settle."

However, as Feifei started kindergarten, she noticed that her daughter lacked a sense of security growing up without a father’s love, and this became more apparent as she grew older.

The time had truly come to find a father for Feifei, but the same problem remained: what kind of man would be suitable?

Until that day, the answer seemed to appear.

It was a Sunday afternoon, and she had taken Feifei to a shopping mall to participate in an event organized by an early education center. Before the event began, the organizers required the participating families to engage in several parent-child activities, all of which necessitated the presence of a father, a mother, and the child.

The first activity was a three-person relay.

This seemingly simple game was actually quite difficult; it required the family to work in perfect synchronization, with the mother and father on either side and the child in the middle.

The families present were all complete, some even bringing four members, except for Ouyang Qian and Feifei, who were just the two of them.

Watching the other fathers warming up and getting ready, Ouyang Qian felt deeply embarrassed. They could only stand on the sidelines and watch, but if she gave up, Feifei would surely be disappointed.

Just then, a sunny, handsome young man wearing a staff uniform noticed her predicament. He walked over and asked considerately, "Ma'am, did the child's father not come? I see you really wanted to participate."

Feifei piped up from the side, "My daddy didn't not come; I just don't have a daddy."
