Chapter 9: How Far Will Pleasure Seekers Go in Pursuit of Fun?
As long as you get bitten by a mutated animal, you gain superpowers and instantly become a superhero.
But, thinking carefully, this possibility is actually quite slim.
If it were that easy, super soldiers would already be everywhere.
Especially in superhero movies, where everything hinges on fate.
A certain superpower can only belong to an important character.
Even if a minor character somehow snatches it, in the end, nothing significant happens.
Or they become a villain, just a stepping stone in the protagonist’s journey.
But who knows?
Maybe today is the day you meet the impossible.
With such a hopeful mindset, Xu Wang began deliberately provoking the mutated creatures in the biological park.
Even the gentlest animals will bite if sufficiently provoked.
Xu Wang was well experienced in this.
After all, it was precisely because he had angered a radioactive roe deer that he managed to cross into Spider-Man’s world this time.
And so,
In no time at all, the United Technologies biological park erupted into chaos!
True pandemonium!
Xu Wang’s commotion was so loud it quickly alarmed the park staff.
When they rushed toward the noise, they found Xu Wang, battered and bruised, wrestling fiercely with a large goose on the ground!
Xu Wang bit the goose’s foot, while the goose, eyes bloodshot, fiercely nipped at Xu Wang’s face!
“Oh my God!”
The guards and researchers were startled.
Once they recovered, the security personnel hurried forward.
One pulled the goose back, another dragged Xu Wang away, finally separating the two combatants.
At this point, both Xu Wang and the goose were fully enraged.
Even when pulled apart, they kicked violently at each other from a distance!
Trying to knock the other out!
“Gaaah!” Xu Wang cursed angrily, bloodshot eyes blazing.
He didn’t want to lose face like this, but he never expected this goose to be so formidable when he provoked it.
As a noble traveler with a golden finger ability, Xu Wang felt his strength insulted.
If word got out that he couldn’t even defeat a goose, what face would he have left?
“Gaaah!” The goose, never having heard such filthy language before, reddened its eyes further!
It furiously honked back at Xu Wang while flapping its wings and struggling fiercely!
The thin guard holding the goose almost lost his grip!
“Gaaah! Gaaah! Gaaah!”
The two exchanged insults from a distance, each refusing to relent.
The fat guard holding Xu Wang broke out in a cold sweat.
He had never seen such a scene in his life.
He was utterly at a loss.
“Stop it! Stop it!”
The fat guard instinctively tried to mediate.
Halfway through, he suddenly realized something was off: “Wait! You can understand goose? You two can communicate?”
Xu Wang turned around, staring at the fat guard like he was crazy: “Are you stupid? I’m human, it’s a goose. Of course, I don’t understand what it’s honking.”
“Then, then what?”
The fat guard was confused beyond words.
He couldn’t grasp Xu Wang’s logic.
He had no idea Xu Wang just felt disadvantaged because he was cursing the goose in human language, which the goose couldn’t comprehend.
Just then, the thin guard suddenly screamed!
The goose had broken free, flapping its wings as it unleashed a full counterattack on the thin guard!
“Request backup! Request backup!”
The thin guard was pinned down by the goose, unable to resist, clutching his head and shouting for reinforcements over the radio.
Soon, more guards rushed in and immediately engaged the park’s small animals in battle!
Even the fat guard eagerly grabbed a goldfish from a fish tank and slapped at it!
The entire biological park descended into utter chaos!
“Wow!”
Xu Wang, the instigator of this turmoil, stood amidst the “battlefield,” marveling at the fierce clash between guards and animals.
“People aren’t as kind-hearted as before. How could they bully innocent animals? I must call the Animal Protection Association.”
Xu Wang felt no guilt as the culprit.
Having already been bitten several times, he decided not to linger.
Casually, he headed out while using his personal terminal to simulate a phone call to animal protection.
These people conducting experiments on animals were truly evil.
A righteous person couldn’t stand idly by—they must be stopped!
Before Xu Wang arrived, the biological park was peaceful and serene.
When he left, it was a scene of ruin and chaos.
Muttering about how America was just as chaotic as rumored, Xu Wang shook his head with pity, mounted his Harley, and departed.
The biological park incident was completely forgotten by him.
His thoughts now turned to Uncle Ben, Spider-Man’s guardian.
Each Spider-Man generation’s family address varied slightly due to different creators.
But most Spider-Men lived in Queens.
Yesterday, Xu Wang had already gotten Peter’s detailed address from him.
Now was the perfect time to ride there.
20 Ingram Street, Forest Hills, Queens, New York.
This was Peter’s home.
A common wooden detached house worth about $100,000 to $300,000.
Although Peter Parker was often associated with poverty,
Uncle Ben’s home, where Peter was raised, was middle class.
If only Uncle Ben were still alive...
Following the map on his personal terminal, Xu Wang soon arrived at Peter’s house.
The personal terminal looked like a small screen attached to his left wrist.
But it was a high-tech product from the Sanctuary technology.
Far more advanced than most computers in this world, just without strong AI.
Once linked to the network, downloading a map was effortless.
In fact, the personal terminal was developed specifically for the post-apocalyptic wasteland era.
It had the ability to automatically record maps.
Parking his motorcycle at Peter’s doorstep, Xu Wang got off and carefully observed the surroundings.
If the story remained unchanged,
Peter Parker should be trying to infiltrate the Oscorp Group right now.
Only Uncle Ben and Aunt May were home.
Xu Wang narrowed his eyes.
His plan was to open a window of Peter’s house, sneak in quietly, then release the mutated dragonfly to ensure it bit Ben Parker.
Someone with such a strong sense of justice like him naturally preferred to do good deeds anonymously.
Better not let Uncle Ben notice him.
Xu Wang nodded, took out the jar containing the mutated dragonflies from his backpack, and quietly made his way toward Peter’s house.
Perhaps because someone was home, the window of the villa was left open, which made sneaking in easier.
“Good, this way I can get in without anyone noticing...”
Xu Wang nodded with satisfaction, a confident smile playing on his lips.
He braced one hand on the windowsill and skillfully flipped himself inside Peter’s home.
“Easy... ahhh!”
He was about to say “easy,”
But as soon as he landed, he stepped on a bar of soap!
He instantly lost balance, screaming as he fell backwards!
Mid-air, Xu Wang flailed his hands instinctively, trying to grab something, but only caught a dishcloth on the counter.
He pulled it down along with several dirty plates, which crashed and shattered over his head!
“Crash!”
“Clatter, clatter!”
The kitchen erupted in loud noise!
Startled by the sudden racket, Uncle Ben and Aunt May in the living room jumped up from the couch!
Hearing quick footsteps approaching, a dazed Xu Wang tried to reassure himself: “Don’t panic, everything is under control! First, release the dragonfly.”
His vision blurred, trembling, he grabbed the jar and twisted open the lid.
The mutated dragonfly immediately flew out.
Whether from the earlier head injury or the bites from the mutated creatures in the park, Xu Wang suddenly felt dizzy.
A wave of drowsiness washed over him.
Fortunately,
Before passing out, he saw the mutated dragonfly bite Ben Parker’s neck!
Satisfied, Xu Wang finally closed his eyes.
A happy smile curved his lips.
As if he had died...
This terrified Uncle Ben and Aunt May, their faces drained of color!
