Chapter 58: Trinity
"Jason, look, the enemies are on the other side of that wall."
Xu Wang wore a serious expression as he raised a hand to point toward the direction of the large house.
"Mm-hmm!"
Jason nodded, his gaze turning solemn as he looked toward the villa.
His target was also in there.
"Good boy!"
Xu Wang raised his hand, and Jason very obediently half-crouched down, letting Xu Wang pat his head.
"Awooo! Woof woof woof!"
Seeing this, Tiezhu nearby instantly grew anxious, and this time it wasn't just a feeling.
It firmly believed that its status within the household was under severe threat!
This drove Tiezhu to run in circles around Xu Wang, barking loudly in a desperate attempt to separate Xu Wang and Jason.
It completely forgot about even its favorite food bowl.
"Tiezhu, be a good dog. I love you too. Just get along nicely with big brother Jason."
Seeing Tiezhu acting like this, Xu Wang crouched down and rubbed the dog's head.
"Woof woof!"
Tiezhu barked twice in protest!
Having placated the dog, Xu Wang led Jason and strolled leisurely back toward the villa.
As they walked, Xu Wang asked out of curiosity, "Jason, why have you been chasing after Brett and his gang with a machete all this time? Weren't you part of the vice squad?"
It was unclear whether Jason even understood Xu Wang's question.
He kept walking forward, perhaps deep in thought, and then made a gesture of pushing forward with both hands.
Seeing this, Xu Wang immediately engaged his world-shaking intellect to ponder the meaning.
Jason's full name was Jason Voorhees.
Because of his naturally ugly appearance as a child, he had suffered from discrimination and bullying by those around him.
He had a mother who worked as a cook at Camp Crystal Lake. During a summer camp event at Crystal Lake one day, young Jason had been ostracized by the other children.
He was even pushed directly into the lake and drowned!
In the end, his mother resurrected him using the Necronomicon obtained from the set of The Evil Dead, transforming him into the demonic Jason of today.
Combining this background, Xu Wang deduced:
Jason's pushing gesture likely represented the incident before little Jason died, when he was pushed into the water by others.
"Are you saying that those people inside the villa are the ones who pushed you into the water back then?"
Xu Wang felt he had guessed the answer, though he still had some doubts.
If Brett and that group of little brats were the ones who pushed Jason into the water, Xu Wang would believe it without a second thought.
They were definitely capable of doing something like that.
Yet the timeline didn't seem to quite match up.
In the end, Xu Wang chose to give up thinking about it.
Anyway, since they had come all the way from Crystal Lake to Eden Lake, maybe this world was just like that.
So what if the timeline didn't match?
"Mm-hmm!"
Jason nodded, gripping his machete.
This meant Xu Wang had guessed correctly.
"Shh! Quiet down, they're coming."

Meanwhile, inside the courtyard of the villa.
Flanking the courtyard gate on both sides were two men holding hunting rifles.
They were crouched here, intending to set up an ambush for Xu Wang and his group.
After all, from their perspective, the enemy consisted of merely two people and a dog.
At most, that big guy wearing the hockey mask might be a bit troublesome.
No matter what, though, no matter how strong a person was, they couldn't block bullets.
Once these people were dealt with, they could simply go back to living their lives as before.
"Listen to the footsteps! They're almost here!"
The two hunters held their breath with intense concentration. One of them closed his eyes, tilted his head, and whispered a warning to his companion.
He had hunted for years and was extremely confident in his hearing.
"Getting closer, closer, even closer!"
"Two people and a dog, drawing nearer and nearer..."
"Tap-tap, tap-tap, tap-tap..."
"Wait! These footsteps!"
"How come it sounds like four people now?"
Startled, the hunter opened his eyes and lifted his head!
Only to see a Husky wearing four little shoes standing right in front of him, tilting its head.
"What?!"
The hunter was shocked!
A wet "squelch" sound echoed.
His companion on the other side had already had his skull split open by a slash from Jason, who had flanked them from behind!
"Hey, what are you waiting for?"
Xu Wang patted this hunter on the shoulder.
Just as the man turned around, Xu Wang's lizard-like claw pierced straight through his chest!
"Take a deep breath, don't worry, my friend. It's just a little bleeding, completely normal reaction. Just take a nap."
Xu Wang patted the hunter's shoulder and let him slump to the ground.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
Right at that moment, several gunshots rang out consecutively from the second-floor window of the villa behind them!
A bullet grazed Xu Wang's thigh, instantly tearing his trousers and causing blood to seep out.
Immediately afterward, a dark figure stepped in front of Xu Wang.
Followed by a series of wet thuds as bullets entered flesh.
Those bullets, which should have hit Xu Wang, were all blocked by Jason.
"Thank you, Jason."
Xu Wang withdrew the Wuji Sword and patted Jason on the shoulder.
The Wuji Sword was simply too useful.
Right before dying, committing suicide immediately ensured that before dying at someone else's hands, he died at his own hands first.
Suicide wouldn't trigger a dimensional shift or death rewards, but it allowed resurrection after 24 hours.
This way, he didn't have to worry about missing out on the specific death rewards he wanted.
"Damn it! That freak really is a monster! He's completely fine!"
At the second-floor window, Pogue put away his gun. Seeing that Jason had been shot and suffered no ill effects, he was already breaking out in a cold sweat of pure terror!
"Look closely! Not just that freak! And that psycho—his hand is a monster claw! He's a monster too! We need to call the police!"
Someone else screamed in panic.
"Bang!"
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out!
The person who had been shouting frantically suddenly collapsed, a bullet hole appearing in the center of his forehead as brain matter and blood continuously spilled out.
Johnny lowered his pistol with a stern face, sweeping his icy gaze over everyone in the room. "Whoever mentions calling the police again, I'll blow their head off!"
With that, Johnny turned his cold glare toward the courtyard gate downstairs, locking eyes with Jason, who had raised his head to look back.
"He's Jason! He crawled back up from the bottom of the lake! If he doesn't die today, we do!"
Johnny recalled the memories from decades ago at the Crystal Lake summer camp.
A wave of terror surged into his heart, transforming instantly into impotent rage!
Hearing Johnny roar like this, the older adults in the room instantly turned pale!
This had truly become a fight to the death with no retreat.
Xu Wang's world-shaking intellect had only allowed him to guess half the truth.
Young Jason's death back then was indeed related to Brett and the others.
But it wasn't done by those little punks.
It was done by their parents' generation.
The parents of those punks had killed Jason decades ago.
And the children they gave birth to had almost killed Steve and his girlfriend this year.
They truly were a family.
"Looks like they've been prepared for a while. Jason, go get them."
Xu Wang patted Jason on the back.
Obediently, Jason took a stride forward and walked straight toward the front door.
"Crash!"
The solid wood door offered no defense whatsoever.
It was smashed to pieces under the immense strength of Jason's charge.
Xu Wang and Tiezhu followed leisurely right behind Jason.
By this time, Xu Wang had retracted his lizard claw and was holding a Hornet X-01 assault rifle in his hands.
This rifle had a 30-round magazine and fired 5.56mm ammunition, providing more than enough lethality.
Using Jason as a human shield, Xu Wang picked off targets with precise rifle shots.
Clearing out a house full of villains was effortlessly easy.
In horror movies, many protagonists merely died because of insufficient firepower.
"Tiezhu, sniff out where they are hiding."
Xu Wang gave the order to Tiezhu beside him.
"Woof woof!"
Tiezhu immediately acknowledged the command; it was determined to perform better than Jason!
Defense, output, and reconnaissance—trinity in action.
