Chapter 14: The Inverted Heavenly Gang!
“You saw something you weren’t supposed to!”
Lands’ eyes were icy cold as he spoke, reaching for a glass on the nearby table.
Uncle Ben was speechless.
For some reason, in this intensely tense moment, his mind was blank—except for one mischievous young man named Xu Wang.
He wondered, if Xu Wang were here, how would that young fellow behave now?
In an instant, Xu Wang’s grinning face flashed through Uncle Ben’s mind as if possessed by a ghost.
With a sudden surge of courage, Uncle Ben rolled his eyes, waved his hands wildly, and turned his ears toward Lands. “What did you say? I can’t see; I’m blind.”
“Huh?!”
Lands’ murderous intent diminished considerably.
He looked at Uncle Ben with suspicion, still doubting him.
Slowly, he took a step forward and stood right before Uncle Ben.
Then suddenly, he struck the classic one-legged stance!
Followed swiftly by a “monkey steals the peach” move!
Just as Lands was about to grab Uncle Ben, Uncle Ben remained still, neither dodging nor flinching.
Only then did Lands cease his attack.
Some of his doubts eased; he straightened up and adjusted his clothes.
Just as Uncle Ben thought the test was over, Lands suddenly spun around and made a grimace at him!
Trying to startle Uncle Ben into revealing a weakness.
But Uncle Ben kept a blank face, calmly asking, “Excuse me, is Mr. Lands here?”
Lands glanced at the corpse on the floor but said nothing, quietly stepping back two paces.
He was naturally suspicious.
He had to be sure whether this man before him was truly blind.
After a moment’s thought, Lands entered the adjacent room.
Soon he emerged wearing a wig, lipstick, and a dress—a full female disguise.
He had already checked his reflection before coming out.
An older man’s face paired with a dress made even him feel nauseous.
Lands didn’t believe Uncle Ben could look at this and still have empty eyes.

Uncle Ben almost lost his composure.
Thanks to Xu Wang’s “training,” he managed to hold back—for now.
Seeing this, Lands finally felt reassured.
If someone could keep a straight face and empty gaze even in this form, he was either a monk or truly blind.
Since he was blind, Lands assumed his killing had gone unseen.
He had already absorbed the life force of enough people today.
Absorbing more now might arouse police suspicion.
After all, he’d just been questioned by the police that morning.
So Lands decided to spare Uncle Ben, the “blind man,” for now.

Lands suddenly hurled the glass cup in another direction!
Uncle Ben guessed that Lands intended to retreat and cooperatively turned to walk toward the sound of the breaking glass.
Now was the moment!
Lands squinted and, taking advantage of Uncle Ben’s back being turned, swiftly brushed past him and dashed out the door.
With agile grace, Lands leapt toward a window down the hallway!
He planned to smash the glass, land on the street below, and swiftly escape the crime scene.
A perfect plan.
A very heroic image.
But reality was harsh!
With a loud “crash!” Lands collided against bulletproof glass!
The glass remained unscathed.
He sprawled against it, slowly sliding down.
“Pfft!”
Uncle Ben turned around and saw this very scene.
He nearly burst out laughing.
Hearing the mockery, Lands bounced up from the ground with a “pop!”
Looking left and right—no one in the corridor.
He cast a suspicious glance back at Uncle Ben, who was still inside asking if Mr. Lands was there.
Satisfied no one had witnessed his embarrassing moment, Lands sighed in relief.
He begrudgingly opened the window and climbed out.
Leaping from the third floor, he landed lightly on the street below.
The life forces he had absorbed indeed enhanced his physical abilities.
But the insatiable desire inside him grew stronger.
One life after another was too slow to satisfy.
His mind was already cooking up an even more reckless plan.
Still dressed in his female disguise, Lands sprinted furiously away from the biological park.
After Lands left, Uncle Ben also leapt down from the third floor.
Watching Lands’ retreating figure, his smile vanished, replaced by solemnity.
That man had just absorbed someone’s life force!
Before descending, Uncle Ben had confirmed the fat man was beyond revival.
This made Uncle Ben fully realize that Lands had become a murderer beyond reason.
Such a dangerous individual could not be left unchecked!
Glancing at a nearby newsstand selling wrestler masks, Uncle Ben picked a green mask to conceal his identity.
He removed his coat and, with his disguise in place, began pursuing Lands.
No matter which version of Spider-Man, Uncle Ben was always kind-hearted and responsible.
Even in old age, he would bravely confront armed criminals without hesitation.
Now, having gained the power of a mutated dragonfly, Uncle Ben was undoubtedly a superhero in both spirit and strength!
Thus, the soon-to-be Dragonfly Hero and the newly turned villain, Hourglass Man, thundered down the streets of New York!

The sun was setting.
The sky grew dim.
But both pursuer and pursued had excellent vision.
After chasing through two blocks, Hourglass Man Lands realized the wrestler-masked man behind him was chasing him!
“Hey! You pervert! Why are you chasing me?!”
Hourglass Man shouted, twisting around.
“Look at you now! Who’s the pervert?!”
Uncle Ben retorted without backing down.
Lands, still disguised in female attire to hide his identity, was a rather unpleasant sight to chase.
Hourglass Man fell silent and flung two high heels like flying weapons at Uncle Ben!
Uncle Ben side-flipped to dodge, then reached into his chest and pulled out two “front chest plates,” hurling them back!
Uncle Ben jumped onto a nearby wall, vaulted over it, and dodged again!
“Help! Help! Catch him!”
At that moment, a long-haired man wearing sunglasses suddenly burst out of a nearby shop.
That man appeared to have just committed a robbery!
Uncle Ben hesitated.
He wanted to help.
But seeing Hourglass Man pulling away, he made a tough choice.
With a grit of his teeth, he decided to keep chasing Hourglass Man.
That guy was far too dangerous!
If left unchecked, more people would fall victim.
“Sorry!”
Passing by the fat store clerk, Uncle Ben apologized and quickened his pace after Hourglass Man.
He thought that if he could resolve the Hourglass Man matter quickly, he might return to apprehend the robber.
He just forgot that the Osborne building was nearby.
Today’s experiment had gone unusually well.
So Peter Parker left the lab earlier than expected.
He called Uncle Ben to say he didn’t need a ride home.
It was still early.
But Uncle Ben had no time to answer his call.
So Peter went home alone.
Just as he turned a corner, he saw a long-haired man with sunglasses rushing toward him in a panic.
The man was running so fast he stumbled.
A pistol slipped from his arms and landed between Peter and the man.
At the sight of the gun, Peter froze.
They exchanged a brief glance.
Then suddenly both lunged forward—both trying to grab the lethal weapon!
Amid their struggle, a gunshot rang out!
Peter’s eyes widened in shock—
