Chapter 37: Ancient Martial Arts! Xuanxuan vs. Chu Feng!
"I understand. Currently, the founding shares of the Zhang Group are still held by the old man. If he can step forward, we can legitimately reclaim the industry from Zhang Fuqiang," Xuanxuan said, her eyes brightening.
"That's unrealistic," Ma Long said, standing up while rolling a couple of polished walnut-shaped stress balls in his hand. "The old man has dementia, and dementia is irreversible."
"It's lead poisoning," interjected Mengzi, who had been silent until now. "Before my brother passed away, he mentioned that the dosage he administered was lower than the original plan, so there is still hope for the old man's recovery."
He paused, then added, "Ms. Zhang, I want to apologize on behalf of my brother..."
"Your brother is already dead, and I have no need to hold you accountable for his mistakes," Zhang Yanran replied.
"Yanbei University is starting soon, and as it happens, Zhang Fuqiang is one of the university's shareholders. That will be our opportunity," Chu Feng said, leaning his hands on the coffee table as he looked at everyone.
"Is there anything I need to do?" Li Xueli stepped forward. "I don't want to be the most useless person here."
Originally, Li Xueli had intended to find an opportunity to divorce Zhang Fuqiang, divide a portion of the assets, and go somewhere else to live a carefree life. But during these days spent with Chu Feng, she realized she could no longer bear to be apart from him. Having already been molded by him, she feared she would go insane if they were suddenly separated.
Zhang Yanran was stunned, wondering when Li Xueli and Chu Feng had become so close. Furthermore, the way they interacted felt incredibly natural, just like a... married couple. She clenched her fists, feeling a strange, sour ache in her heart.
"Chu Feng, have you practiced ancient martial arts?" Xuanxuan suddenly asked.
"Ancient martial arts?" Chu Feng looked puzzled. "What kind of ancient martial arts?"
"The way you fought those thugs earlier—your technique was clearly boxing, but the speed and reflexes you showed were far beyond what boxing could explain," Xuanxuan said, tying her hair into a ponytail.
Chu Feng thought carefully. Could it be the "Esoteric Joyous Zen" from the old lama in his previous life? Indeed, if he were just an ordinary person, his stamina wouldn't be this inexhaustible. While out for a walk the other night, he had gone to a gym on a whim to run, and after two full hours, he hadn't felt a hint of fatigue. On the contrary, his joints felt loose and he felt incredibly invigorated.
"Dare to spar with me?" Xuanxuan took off her coat, revealing a pitch-black women's tank top that accentuated her physique. She was in great shape, with toned muscles and clearly defined abs.
"An old friend once gave me an ancient manual. Xuanxuan was very interested in it and learned from it by following the illustrations. Later, we discovered it was actually a manual for ancient martial arts. Don't let her being a girl fool you; even ten grown men might not be her match," Ma Long said. Since they were now in a partnership with Chu Feng, he didn't intend to keep things hidden anymore.
Chu Feng thought for a moment. "I have an underground garage. Want to give it a try?"
"Fine, let's try it!" Xuanxuan pulled bandages from her bag and wrapped them around her fists.
They arrived at the basement. Because it was a newly developed residential area, there were few cars in the parking lot and even fewer people. Chu Feng changed into shorts, went shirtless, and took a stance facing Xuanxuan.
Xuanxuan's eyes sharpened, and the next moment, she launched an attack at Chu Feng. To his surprise, she opened with a high whip kick aimed directly at his head! If that kick had landed on an ordinary person, they would have been killed or crippled.
Chu Feng dodged to the side, seized her leg, and launched her into the air.
"Interesting!" Xuanxuan stabilized herself mid-air, stepped onto a ventilation duct with a loud metallic clang that caused the duct to collapse instantly, and then dove toward Chu Feng like a bullet.
Chu Feng hurriedly crossed his arms in front of his chest, taking the force of the blow with his bare body. The girl's punch felt like a runaway truck, leaving his arms numb! Chu Feng retreated a few steps, but Xuanxuan pressed her attack relentlessly.
"Opportunity!" Seeing a load-bearing wall behind him, Chu Feng stepped onto it, used the recoil to launch a sudden counterattack, and sent a lightning-fast punch toward her face.
But Chu Feng had miscalculated. Xuanxuan’s body was as fluid as water; she arched her back into a bridge, dodging his punch while seizing the chance to deliver a kick to his groin. She was trying to leave him without an heir!
Chu Feng quickly pressed his hands down to block the kick and grabbed a cable to launch a rapid counter. The two traded blows for over ten minutes, leaving Zhang Yanran and the others stunned. Chen Meng was also bewildered; he had assumed Chu Feng was just a spoiled heir, but he hadn't expected him to have such remarkable skills—far superior to his own.
Suddenly, after breaking through one of Chu Feng's knee strikes, Xuanxuan executed a simple yet effective back-throw, slamming him to the ground. She pressed her slender fingers against his Adam's apple.
Xuanxuan gave a sweet smile. "If I were holding a combat knife, you would be dead right now." She then pulled Chu Feng to his feet.
"Phew! That was exhilarating!" Chu Feng had never fought so satisfyingly before. He realized that there were many people in this world who, like him, held hidden cards—and this biker girl was clearly one of them.
"Chu Feng, are you alright?" Zhang Yanran ran over.
Chu Feng smiled and shook his head. "I'm fine." He turned to look at Xuanxuan. "Are you trying to prove something to me?"
"Yes. As far as I know, Zhang Fuqiang has four people with skills like mine around him. And two of them are even better than I am!"
"His bodyguards?" Chu Feng frowned.
Ma Long sighed. "Xuanxuan once tried to assassinate Zhang Fuqiang, but his bodyguards were too skilled. She couldn't find an opening, and she even failed once."
"It seems this revenge is more difficult than I imagined," Chu Feng said, looking at those around him. "But I am not fighting alone."
He reached out his hand. Ma Long and the others exchanged smiles and reached out to join him. The hands of the six people tightened together. Chu Feng knew his team had taken shape; all that remained was to act.
If Chu Feng had initially sought revenge against Zhang Fuqiang for personal grievances, his purpose now remained the same, but the nature of his mission had changed: to root out this dark cloud hanging over the people of Jiang City and seek justice for those who had died unjustly.
"School starts tomorrow, and our plan... begins now," Zhang Yanran said, stepping forward.
Chu Feng looked at Xuanxuan. "Before school starts, let's rescue the old man. How about it?"
Xuanxuan folded her arms and glanced at him. "Just make sure you don't hold me back."
