Chapter 15: Uncle, You’re Here
The fat man struggled in vain, his face darkening as he snarled, “How dare you! My big brother is Ying Tianlong. If you lay a hand on me, you… you absolutely won’t survive the night!”
Chu Feng smiled faintly. “I’d like to see how exactly he plans to stop me from making it through tonight.”
At that moment, a voice echoed from offstage: “Big talk for sure!”
Chu Feng glanced sideways to see Huang Mao leading four thugs rushing over, their eyes dark as they stared at him.
The fat man’s face lit up with hope. “My big brother’s here! You’re finished! Let me go, now!”
Chu Feng kept smiling. “Alright then.”
The fat man smirked arrogantly. “Smart of you to cooperate…”
Before he could finish, Chu Feng twisted his arm viciously, snapping it.
The fat man howled in pain and collapsed to the ground.
Chu Feng smiled innocently at Huang Mao and raised his hands. “See? I let him go.”
“You’re fucking asking for death!” Ying Tianlong ruffled his hair, his eyes burning with murderous intent.
Chu Feng scanned the thugs on the ground and said calmly, “You overturned my table, smashed my meal—I was only defending myself.”
Feigning realization, Ying Tianlong sneered coldly, “So you’re saying my men provoked you first?”
“That’s right.”
Ying Tianlong smiled thinly and slowly stepped forward.
He approached the overturned table, looked down, and crushed the plastic food containers beneath his foot, stomping on the steaming fried noodles with a look full of provocation.
“Kneel here, lick up all that food, and kowtow three times to apologize to my men… then I might spare your life. How about that?” Ying Tianlong sneered.
Chu Feng smiled with a hint of disdain in his eyes. “What if I refuse?”
The fat man stood beside Ying Tianlong and shouted angrily, “How dare you! You’re dead meat, still talking back when you’re about to die?”
Ying Tianlong raised a hand to silence him, narrowing his eyes as he sized up Chu Feng. “Kid, you’ve angered me, but you still have a chance to live. But Strong Brother there is Jiangcheng’s richest man. If you anger him, no one can protect you.”
He pointed at the food on the ground. “Eat it all up right now, and I’ll let this slide.”
Chu Feng’s gaze was firm, fearless. “Even if Zhang Fuqiang himself stands here, what can he do to me?”
Ying Tianlong’s voice turned icy. “Looks like you’re itching to die.”
“What a lively scene,”
a middle-aged man with a bandaged head, dressed in a suit and holding a cigar, walked over.
Everyone turned sharply at the sound, their eyes wide with disbelief. Even Xuanxuan, who had been watching the drama unfold, was stunned.
Chu Feng actually knew Zhang Fuqiang?
What no one realized was that Chu Feng’s words came out through gritted teeth.
This man before him was the root cause of his past life’s imprisonment and ruin!
Because of him, Chu Feng’s family had fallen apart!
If he could, Chu Feng truly wanted to fight him to the death right now!
But he knew there were many bodyguards around, some likely armed.
Starting trouble now would be sheer folly.
Zhang Fuqiang recognized Chu Feng too. After all, Chu Feng had driven for Zhang Yanran multiple times, one of her many suitors—and the most devoted.
“Brother Qiang, you know him?” Ying Tianlong’s hands trembled.
He was just a small-time thug, but Zhang Fuqiang was a towering figure in Jiangcheng—one who could crush everyone present with a stomp.
Chu Feng hadn’t expected Zhang Fuqiang’s connections to be so vast.
Indeed, he was a master of all trades!
“He’s my daughter’s classmate. He even ate at my home before,” Zhang Fuqiang glanced at Chu Feng. “By the way, I have some questions for you. Have you eaten?”
“I have, but I was planning to bring some late-night snacks to my sister…” Chu Feng shrugged.
The fat man dared not delay any longer and hurried to the vendor. “Boss, please make me exactly the same fried rice again!”
He pulled out a hundred-yuan bill.
Ying Tianlong sat on a small stool while Zhang Fuqiang motioned for Chu Feng to join them—it was, after all, his daughter’s friend.
Of course, Zhang Fuqiang did not know that the very man who had been causing him so much trouble lately was Chu Feng himself.
Had he known, he might have turned hostile on the spot.
Ying Tianlong handed Chu Feng a cigarette. “Young brother, sometimes one must fight to become friends. My men were reckless just now. Please forgive them.”
“No problem. By the way, where’s that beauty from before?” Chu Feng looked around, but Xuanxuan had already left.
“I saw her ride off on a motorcycle,” the fat man said, rubbing his hands with a sycophantic smile, completely different from his earlier ferocity.
“Xiao Chu is no outsider. Ah Long, I’ll be direct: my wife and daughter have gone missing, and I don’t know where. Activate your men and search the entire city immediately,” Zhang Fuqiang’s face darkened.
After calming down, he realized his old temper, the tendency to resort to violence, had flared up again.
He still regretted slapping his daughter—she was his own flesh and blood.
Ying Tianlong said angrily, “Damn it, who dares kidnap Brother Qiang’s family!”
Zhang Fuqiang looked at Chu Feng. “Xiao Chu, if you find out anything about my daughter, call me immediately.”
Chu Feng thought for a moment. “Uncle, don’t worry! I’ll ask the other classmates when I get back.”
“Good.” Zhang Fuqiang patted Chu Feng’s shoulder.
Chu Feng understood this gesture meant his business here was done; he could leave.
So he didn’t linger.
Before departing, he overheard Zhang Fuqiang speaking.
“Xiaolong, Wang Ming from Ruihua Technology has been disobedient lately. Go give him a lesson,” Zhang Fuqiang said lazily.
Ying Tianlong nodded eagerly. “Don’t worry, Brother Qiang.”
As Chu Feng rounded a corner, the fat man ran up, his arm hanging limply.
“Little brother! Little brother!”
“What now? You want to fight me again?” Chu Feng smiled faintly.
The fat man grinned. “That was a misunderstanding. Here’s the fried noodles I promised you!”
“Don’t move,” Chu Feng grabbed his arm.
Terrified, the fat man thought Chu Feng was going to retaliate.
To his surprise, Chu Feng tugged gently and managed to pop the dislocated arm back into place!
“All good! Damn! That’s incredible!” He moved his shoulder and found no pain.
“No problem. I’m off.”
“Hey, wait!” The fat man pulled out a business card. “Since we’ve fought and made up, everyone calls me Panda. If you ever need help, find me! You’re my brother now!”
“Well, since Brother Panda is so polite, I won’t be shy,” Chu Feng said, pocketing the card.
Soon, Chu Feng returned to his car. Judging by Panda and Ying Tianlong’s behavior, Zhang Fuqiang’s influence was probably even greater than he had imagined.
If he was to seek revenge, this would be a long and arduous journey.
