Volume One, Chapter 13: The Family Dinner—She Will Surely Return
Page 1/3
Suwan Yue smiled!
“Brother Han Zhou, hearing you say that puts my mind at ease, but…” Suwan Yue’s smile stiffened on her face, hesitating as if she wanted to say more.
“What is it?”
“I’m worried about Sister Tang Xing. If the clan matriarch is hosting the family banquet, do you think she’ll come home? What if she doesn’t show up…”
Fu Hanzhou sneered coldly: “Don’t worry. She’ll definitely come home obediently for the matriarch’s banquet! Don’t forget, no one knows her better than I do!”
Suwan Yue’s eyes just now weren’t right!
It was as if the owner of the appraisal shop was in on something!
I had a vague feeling that my death was connected to Suwan Yue!
With a heart-wrenching roar, I shouted, “Suwan Yue! I will kill you!”
With a ferocious expression, I lunged at Suwan Yue, my hands gripping her neck tightly. Suwan Yue smiled unaffectedly and said, “I think the gift we gave will surely please the matriarch.”
I gritted my teeth in rage.
Why?
Why is Suwan Yue alive and well? Why am I the one who’s dead?
“Go home. Tang Xing will come to the banquet! When that happens, I’ll make her kneel publicly and apologize to you and the baby!”
Suwan Yue nestled in his arms, and under the starry night sky, the two of them kissed.
Watching this scene, my stomach churned with nausea.
I looked at Fu Hanzhou’s confident back and smiled coldly.
Fu Hanzhou, what expression will you wear if you don’t see me at the family banquet?
Later, Fu Hanzhou went upstairs to rest after returning home.
Fu Xiaosi clung to Suwan Yue.
Suwan Yue’s eyes glinted venomously as she stared at him.
Suddenly, she said, “Xiaosi, do you like your little brother?”
Fu Xiaosi tilted his head and pulled his hand back in protest: “No! Are you going to have a baby and steal all the love Dad and Grandma have for me?”
Fu Xiaosi resisted strongly; he knew nothing about Suwan Yue’s pregnancy.
He had been clever since childhood and quite mischievous.
Now, with Suwan Yue’s question, he naturally understood.
“Auntie Wan Yue, if you want to be my mom, don’t have a baby. Otherwise, I won’t agree to you joining our family, got it?” Fu Xiaosi looked at her belly full of hatred.
Suwan Yue’s body went cold, her eyes filled with growing malice as she sneered.
I sensed something was terribly wrong.
Just as Fu Xiaosi turned away, she grabbed his hand and placed it on her swollen belly.
Since Fu Xiaosi already disliked the new baby, he instinctively pushed her away.
“Ah!!”
A piercing scream shot up into the sky!
The servants in the kitchen all rushed out and saw Suwan Yue lying on the ground, blood faintly flowing down her leg.
Hearing the earlier argument, they immediately understood!
Young Master Xiaosi pushed Miss Suwan Yue!

“Ah! Something terrible happened! Mr. Fu, Miss Suwan Yue is hurt!”
Fu Hanzhou, who was just about to fall asleep, jumped out of bed in fright, not even putting on his shoes, rushing downstairs.
“What’s going on?”
As soon as Fu Hanzhou came downstairs, he saw Suwan Yue collapsed on the floor, blood flowing between her legs, a sight that filled him with dread!
He hurriedly supported her and angrily scolded the servants!
“What were you doing? You can’t even look after a pregnant woman properly!”
The servants muttered, “It seems Young Master Xiaosi pushed Miss Suwan Yue…”
Fu Hanzhou’s pupils dilated in shock!
His eyes were like sharp knives piercing Fu Xiaosi.
Fu Xiaosi trembled in fear.
“No, I didn’t…”
Fu Hanzhou frowned deeply, clearly doubting him.
At that moment, Suwan Yue spoke up, tears streaming down her face as she looked at him: “Hanzhou, Xiaosi didn’t do it on purpose. He’s just afraid that this child will take away your love for him. His pushing me was unintentional. My poor child, suffering so much even before coming into this world…”
“Xiaosi, even if you don’t like this child, he’s still your little brother,” Suwan Yue said tearfully.
Fu Xiaosi was panicked and distraught. With his mother absent, he could only plead with red eyes, “Dad, it really wasn’t me…”
Fu Hanzhou scolded sharply, “Fu Xiaosi, go to your room and reflect on yourself. Don’t come out without my order!”
Fu Xiaosi was carried away by the bodyguards, struggling and roaring in anger, “I’m innocent! Dad, why don’t you believe me?”
At this moment, Fu Xiaosi’s face was full of shock and disappointment!
I was all too familiar with that expression; I once looked at Fu Hanzhou the same way.
Now he should understand the bitterness of being wrongly accused!
And the cause of all this was the woman he had always trusted—Auntie Wan Yue!
At this moment, his gaze toward Suwan Yue changed.
Fu Xiaosi, clever and strictly raised by me, thinking I didn’t love him, was easily swayed by Suwan Yue. Now that he recognized her true nature, his face darkened!
“Wicked woman! You’re a wicked woman! Mommy was right, you’re evil! Dad, let me out!”
Fu Xiaosi was locked in his bedroom, the key taken by Fu Hanzhou.
“When you realize your mistake, then you can come out!”
Suwan Yue’s lips curved into a sinister smile!
My heart skipped a beat!
This is bad!
Suwan Yue is going to target Xiaosi!
“Brother Han Zhou, isn’t this punishment too harsh? Xiaosi was just impulsive!”
It would have been better if she hadn’t mentioned it, but now Fu Hanzhou’s mood grew irritable.
“Disrespecting elders and offending your younger brother—such a child cannot be indulged. Let him stay in his room to reflect properly!” Fu Hanzhou’s eyes were filled with firm conviction over Xiaosi pushing Suwan Yue.
Hmph.
I sneered. Fu Hanzhou’s eyes only ever see what he wants to see.
“I’ll have the private doctor check on you.”
Still uneasy, Fu Hanzhou held Suwan Yue as they rested in our bridal chamber.

This was the bridal chamber I had prepared with care, now invaded by the mistress, who even carried an illegitimate child, lying arrogantly on my bed.
I hated it so much!
The private doctor arrived within ten minutes. After examining Suwan Yue, he went to the study to report to Fu Hanzhou.
“Mr. Fu, Miss Suwan Yue shows signs of a threatened miscarriage. Fortunately, it was caught in time. This medicine is for stabilizing the pregnancy. As long as she rests well, both mother and child will be fine.”
Hearing this, Fu Hanzhou sighed with relief.
His headache began again. He asked, “Is there any headache medicine left?”
Dr. Zhang knew this was an old ailment.
“Mr. Fu, the key to curing this lies with your wife. Only she has the medicine. Once she returns, your headache will naturally ease.”
“Leave now,” Fu Hanzhou said, his tightly closed eyes slowly opening, his gaze complicated.
His eyes fell upon the wedding photo in the study.
“Tang Xing, tomorrow I want you to explain yourself to me!”
Bang!
The door slammed shut with force!
I smiled.
If you don’t see me at the family banquet, what will your expression be?
On the day of the banquet, heavy rain fell.
Suwan Yue’s condition had improved, but Fu Xiaosi was still locked in his room.
He did not believe he was at fault.
Because of this, Fu Hanzhou forbade him from going out and instead held Suwan Yue as they went to the Su family.
Fu Xiaosi curled up on the bed, coughing violently, his face flushed red, murmuring, “Mom…”
The child had a fever, but Fu Hanzhou didn’t notice; he didn’t even check the door before leaving, holding Suwan Yue in his arms.
Seeing Xiaosi’s flushed face, I wanted to reach out and touch his cheek.
“Mom?” Fu Xiaosi blurredly saw Tang Xing and reached out to touch my face.
I was stunned. Could Xiaosi really see me?
Before I could think further, he fainted from the fever.
“Xiaosi!”
I shouted anxiously, desperate to find someone to help the child!
After all, this was the flesh and blood I had carried for ten months!
Though he had been disrespectful to me before and deceived by Suwan Yue, he was only five years old and could still awaken in time!
But before my hand could reach his face, a strong force dragged me away!
Fu Hanzhou held the umbrella with one hand and Suwan Yue in the other.
Fu Hanzhou felt a vague unease.
Suwan Yue noticed his thoughts and smiled: “Brother Han Zhou, I forgive Xiaosi.”
Fu Hanzhou breathed out in relief and looked at her indulgently: “Wan Yue, you’re truly kind. If only Tang Xing were half as sensible as you, I’d be at ease.”
