Volume 1, Chapter 26: I'll Have You Thrown in Jail!
Everyone turned their eyes toward the scene.
Chen Bao’s nose and mouth were continuously oozing black blood. He clutched his head with both hands, his body curled into the shape of a shrimp, while his calves kicked out in a motion resembling rowing a boat. It was clearly the behavior of someone enduring unbearable agony.
"Brother Bao!"
"Master Bao!"
The crowd was terrified, their faces drained of color as they looked at one another in shock.
"I told you all! How could this Lin Xiaoxu be some kind of miracle doctor? He’s just a country bumpkin who grows crops and sells fruit. Now Master Bao is truly going to be tortured to death by him." Li Daying seized the opportunity, pointing his finger at Lin Xiaoxu’s forehead while casting a glance toward Sun Zifu and the bald man.
Sun Zifu, who had previously been slapped by the bald man because of Lin Xiaoxu, was harboring a belly full of resentment. He looked at the bald man tentatively. Noticing that the bald man’s face was extremely grim, with his jaw muscles twitching rhythmically, he realized the man was clearly dissatisfied with Lin Xiaoxu. Encouraged as if he had received a great boost, Sun Zifu puffed up like a fighting cock.
"Brothers, follow me! Let's hack this guy named Lin Xiaoxu to death and avenge Master Bao!"
As he finished speaking, he raised an iron rod high above his head and brought it down toward the crown of Lin Xiaoxu’s head. Lin Xiaoxu moved with the speed of lightning, causing the iron rod to strike nothing but air. With a swift motion, he reached out, grabbed Sun Zifu’s shoulder, and flung him directly into Li Daying.
The two collided in an intimate embrace, tumbling across the ground like a pair of rolling gourds for several meters.
"Bao’er, why do your subordinates keep trying to finish me off?" Lin Xiaoxu asked, looking at Chen Bao.
At that moment, everyone’s eyes subconsciously shifted toward Chen Bao, just in time to witness him stand up from his wheelchair as if nothing had happened. He looked composed, his breathing was smooth, and his eyes were bright. Only his mouth, nose, chin, and collar were stained with a large patch of dark, black blood.
The bald man looked on in disbelief. "Brother Bao, how are you feeling?"
Chen Bao touched his head with both hands and jumped in place several times. Not only did he feel no pain, but he felt an extraordinary surge of vitality and energy—like a Mercedes G-Wagon with a full tank, ready to roar for hundreds of miles with a single press of the pedal.
"I’m healed! I’m fine!"
Lin Xiaoxu said calmly, "It’s my fault for not explaining it clearly to you, Bao’er! The reason you felt such agonizing pain earlier is because I cleared the three blocked blood vessels in your brain. The stagnant blood and clots were forced to flow back, traveling into your nasal and oral cavities, and were expelled through your nosebleeds and vomiting. Now that those three supply vessels have returned to normal, fresh blood is flowing without obstruction. Your cerebral arteriosclerosis is completely cured!"
"Thank you, Miracle Doctor Lin!" Chen Bao bowed deeply. "Please rest assured, Miracle Doctor Lin, I will severely punish those two blind fools!"
"Mm," Lin Xiaoxu replied, his expression indifferent. "However, one must remember that heaven is watching. If you want to live a long life and stay healthy, it’s better to do fewer evil deeds and perform more acts of kindness."
"Bao’er will certainly heed Miracle Doctor Lin’s wise words."
Given the situation, how could Chen Bao dare to disobey Lin Xiaoxu? He nodded frantically in agreement. Lin Xiaoxu took a bank card out of his pocket. Chen Bao immediately accepted it with both hands, then took out his phone, logged into his bank app, and entered the card number...
A moment later, a transaction notification appeared on Lin Xiaoxu’s phone. He was extremely satisfied. He retrieved his bank card, hopped onto his three-wheeled motorcycle, and sped off toward Taoyuan Village.
Chen Bao watched Lin Xiaoxu’s retreating figure until it vanished completely. Then, his expression turned icy as he glanced at Sun Zifu and Li Daying. The two felt as if they were being watched by a venomous snake; they trembled uncontrollably, their crotches grew warm, and yellow urine trickled down their legs to the ground.
They scrambled to shout, "Master Bao, have mercy!"
Who would have guessed that Lin Xiaoxu, the man who sold guavas, was actually a miracle doctor? This Lin Xiaoxu was truly a nuisance. If he was a miracle doctor, why didn't he set up a clinic to save lives instead of going to the farmers' market to sell guavas? Was there something wrong with his head?
"Beat them!"
"Yes, Master Bao!"
A group of men surrounded Sun Zifu and Li Daying. The dozen or so thugs brought by Sun Zifu, in particular, were furious when they realized they had been manipulated into attacking the miracle doctor, and they put all their strength into beating the two men half to death.

As Lin Xiaoxu entered the village on his three-wheeled motorcycle, his path was blocked once again.
"Auntie Liu, why are you stopping me? Is something the matter?"
The person blocking his way was the widow Liu Shulan. She was sweating profusely, her breathing was ragged, and her ample chest was heaving violently. She glanced left and right to ensure no one was around before saying, "Xiaoxu, run! There are many police officers waiting at your house right now, just waiting for you to return so they can arrest you and put you in jail!"
Lin Xiaoxu was astonished. He hadn't stolen, robbed, or done drugs—he was a first-class, law-abiding citizen. Why would the police want to throw him in jail?
"It’s because you stole someone’s three-wheeled motorcycle after your trip to the county town!" Liu Shulan was anxious to the point of desperation, frustrated that the foolish Lin Xiaoxu was still asking questions.
"Nonsense, I bought this vehicle with my own money," Lin Xiaoxu replied.
"Oh, the police have already come to your door! Why are you still being so stubborn, you fool?" If the police didn't have solid evidence that you stole the bike, would they come all the way to this godforsaken mountain village of Taoyuan just to wait for you?
Liu Shulan reached into her pocket, pulled out two fifty-yuan notes, and shoved them into Lin Xiaoxu’s hand. "You fool, the delivery fee for the goods was only three yuan. Here is the fifty back, and I’ll add another fifty. Run away now and wait until the heat dies down before coming back to the village, do you understand?"
In the village, earning fifty yuan was no easy task. Even though Liu Shulan preferred to believe that the motorcycle he was riding was stolen rather than bought with hard-earned money, she was still willing to tip him off and give him money to escape. Lin Xiaoxu was deeply touched.
"Auntie Liu, don't worry, I’ll be fine!"
Lin Xiaoxu pressed the two fifty-yuan notes back into Liu Shulan’s hand, revved the engine, and shot toward his home like an arrow.
"Don't move! Hands up!"
The moment Lin Xiaoxu stepped off the vehicle, several figures in uniform sprang out from all directions.
