Huang Bingyao cursed as he got out of the car. Looking up, he saw people sprinting ahead, many of them carrying knives and sticks. As they ran, they waved their clothes back and forth a few times before tossing them to the ground.

“Chase them!” Huang Bingyao shouted, and the group of police behind him broke into a run.

He had come to bring someone back, never expecting to run into a gang fight!

Gritting his teeth, he hurried forward. If the target escaped, how could he explain it back home?

Who could it be?

His thoughts quickly turned to Wang Yaotang—Shakun was fighting the young man for business.

As he thought this, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a suspicious-looking figure getting into a car.

Huang Bingyao stopped dead and twisted around sharply. “Wang Yaotang, stop!”

Wang Yaotang was already seated in the car. Upon hearing this, he sighed. When a person is too outstanding, they shine like stars in the night sky—impossible to hide.

...

Ajie’s car quickly caught up. Shakun was in bad shape.

His arms and head were bleeding heavily from glass shards, and his left leg was likely broken; pressing the clutch caused him intense pain. Still, Ajie was hot on his tail and dared not stop. Shakun could only curse to keep himself awake.

“Brother Jie, what do we do? Should we ram him?” one of the young men asked excitedly.

He was just a low-level thug who used to drive trucks at the market. Now, working under Wang Yaotang’s Blue Lantern crew, he never imagined he’d get the chance to chase down a big shot from the Eastern Union Society.

This was something he could brag about forever!

Just as Ajie was about to agree to ram, the car jolted, knocking over a nearby gasoline drum.

Blinking, Ajie suddenly recalled a story Wang Yaotang once told him about how the Finns used Molotov cocktails to fend off Soviet tanks during the Soviet invasion of Finland.

Looking at Shakun’s car ahead, then the gasoline drum and empty soda bottles on the ground, a faint smile appeared at the corner of Ajie’s mouth.

“Burn you to ashes, then!” he muttered.

He doused a cloth with gasoline, stuffed it, and with the car bouncing, gasoline splashed on his hands. He wiped it on his pants and shouted, “Go for it, side by side!”

The young man pressed the accelerator. “Got it, Brother Jie.”

After tailing Shakun’s car, Ajie lit the cloth, and flames flared up instantly.

Ajie leaned out and forcefully threw a soda bottle at the car window. “Crack!”

“Boom—”

A fierce fire erupted inside the driver’s cabin, instantly turning Shakun into a man engulfed in flames.

Panicked and in agony, Shakun, already bleeding heavily, lost control. The car veered off the road, crashed through a pedestrian fence, and slammed into the wall of a roadside shop.

“Whoa!” Seeing the crash, Ajie gave a fierce swing of his arm.

The van kept moving forward as Ajie watched closely.

Shakun passed out from the impact, then was roused by the fire. He struggled but couldn’t open the door. Gradually, the fire ignited the gasoline in the fuel tank.

“Boom—”

...

“Officer Huang, what’s going on? Eating fish balls isn’t a crime, right? This young man here can vouch for me—I was here the whole time, didn’t move,” Wang Yaotang said helplessly as he pushed open the door and stepped out. “Very tasty, give me a bowl.”

Huang Bingyao scowled, glancing at the billiards hall and then at Wang Yaotang. “Did you send people to clear out Shakun’s turf?”

“I didn’t. I’m not involved; don’t talk nonsense,” Wang Yaotang shook his head vigorously. “It’s got nothing to do with me!”

“Cut the crap. Where’s Shakun?” Huang Bingyao looked irritated.

“I just saw someone jump out a window and drive off. If you’d come two minutes earlier, you might have seen it too. Whether it was them, I don’t know,” Wang Yaotang shrugged.

“Damn you!” Huang Bingyao gritted his teeth.

“Uh... You’re not blaming me, are you?” Wang Yaotang raised an eyebrow, sensing the situation wasn’t that simple. “If you were aiming at Shakun, you’d have arrested a lot more people by now.”

Huang Bingyao took a few deep breaths and pointed at the billiards hall. “Arrest them!”

After giving the order, he turned to Wang Yaotang. “You’re not getting away either!”

“What does this have to do with me?”

“Shakun’s men harassed, beat, and forced vendors to sell erotic clothing because they’re competing with you, right?”

“Hey, Officer Huang, get it straight. I operate legitimately. Vendors beg to sell my stuff. What does their crime have to do with me?”

“It’s one thing if it’s just a few vendors, but hundreds? Do you think the Vendors’ Association is a joke?” Huang Bingyao sneered.

“Can’t help it. Gangsters don’t know how to think. They believe fighting is the most powerful way to solve problems. You’ll have to ask the Education Bureau to fix this at its root.”

“Aren’t you a gangster?”

“I’m a legitimate businessman, Officer!”

“The Governor was furious this morning. The top boss got chewed out badly, and then you, a ‘legitimate businessman,’ send people to slash others in the streets?” Huang Bingyao laughed and gave a thumbs-up. “Committing crimes openly, impressive!”

Wang Yaotang’s face stiffened instantly: Oh no, Ajie!

“You’re so happy it’s ridiculous. Someone’s already gone to pull you and Heshengyi aside.”

“No, Shakun’s gone crazy. What does that have to do with us or Heshengyi?”

“Then what does your business rivalry have to do with the vendors? What does the vendors being bullied have to do with the top boss? My superior got blasted to hell.”

“I’m calling a lawyer.”

“Suit yourself.” Huang Bingyao shrugged. “So what’s the real story?”

“Shakun knows nothing about business. Blindly expanding production, tight cash flow, huge inventory backlog, no complete sales plan, and yet he dares to embezzle millions from the gang.” Wang Yaotang shook his head disdainfully. “Trying to imitate me, but his product design is flawed, he can’t even copy properly. His underlings are all thugs who just shout and slash people.”

“I swear, I never used underhanded tactics against him. I just followed the routine marketing plan, and he blew up on his own.”

“Damn!” Wang Yaotang cursed. “That bastard had my company’s truck robbed on the road this morning, wounded 10 employees, and even captured a manager and two staff.”

“Haha,” Huang Bingyao chuckled. “Foot soldiers turning into employees, quick response.”

Wang Yaotang chuckled twice. “I’m legitimate, you know. Confident.”

As they talked, Huang Bingyao’s radio crackled. “This is Huang Bingyao.”

“There’s been a car accident on Hankou Road. After stopping by the roadside, it caught fire. One person inside burned to death. Based on the license plate, it’s suspected to be from the Eastern Union Society: Shakun.”

Huang Bingyao’s face darkened.

Wang Yaotang’s mouth twitched. “Don’t look at me. Shakun watched too many movies—breaking windows and jumping out, covered with glass cuts, one leg broken. It’s no surprise he got into an accident.”

“The Governor’s fury needs someone to calm it down. You’d better watch yourself.”

“Hey, what the hell do I care if that Brit dies or not?” Wang Yaotang’s temper flared.

Huang Bingyao glanced back at him but said nothing.

Damn it, he cursed under his breath, tore off Shakun’s file from his notebook, and tossed it to the ground.

The system notifications appeared.

Glancing at the system panel, Wang Yaotang’s mood brightened. This small police station was nothing!

Wang Yaotang went to a nearby convenience store to make calls, dialing repeatedly with no response.

After some thought, he called Siyanzi, who returned the call quickly. “Big trouble. I’m heading to the police station. Once I contact Ajie and Aji, tell them to lay low in Macau for a while. Everything else stays as usual.”

“Prepare employment contracts for Awe and his suppliers. You join the company immediately, get Sang Yunkai to handle it, and then have a lawyer post bail for me at the Yau Ma Tei police station.”
